Diverse biological effects of glycosyltransferase genes from Tartary buckwheat [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
Background: Tartary buckwheat (Fagopyrum tataricum) is an edible cereal crop whose sprouts have been marketed and commercialized for their higher levels of anti-oxidants, including rutin and anthocyanin. UDP-glucose flavonoid glycosyltransferases (UFGTs)

Incidence and Molecular Identification of Cochliobolus carbonum as Causal Organism of Rice Seedling Blight

open access: yesBeni-Suef University Journal of Basic and Applied Sciences, 2018
During last few years, seedling blight and black lesions along culm of rice seedlings have been appearing frequently in nurseries. Identification of the causal organism was the objective of this research.

Variability of half-sib progeny properties as the base of Moesian beech (Fagus moesiaca (Maly) Czeczott) breeding [PDF]

open access: yesGlasnik Šumarskog Fakulteta: Univerzitet u Beogradu, 2004
Based on the analysis of several morphological features and phenotype characteristics of seedlings in the juvenile test with 10 half-sib lines of Moesian beech (Fagus moesiaca (Maly) Czeczott), this paper gives the guidelines for further breeding and ...

Identification Method of Rice Seedlings Rows Based on Gaussian Heatmap

open access: yesAgriculture, 2022
The identification method of rice seedling rows based on machine vision is affected by environmental factors that decrease the accuracy and the robustness of the rice seedling row identification algorithm (e.g., ambient light transformation, similarity ...

Accumulation of 5-hydroxynorvaline in maize (Zea mays) leaves is induced by insect feeding and abiotic stress. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
Plants produce a wide variety of defensive metabolites to protect themselves against herbivores and pathogens. Non-protein amino acids, which are present in many plant species, can have a defensive function through their mis-incorporation during protein ...

Telomere‐to‐Telomere Genomes Reveal that Multiscale Evolution Shapes the Largest Metabolic Arsenal of Diaporthe Fungi

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study presents the first telomere‐to‐telomere genomes and population resources for Diaporthe pathogens, uncovering the largest known fungal repertoire of secondary metabolite gene clusters. Structural variations and horizontal gene transfer drive cluster diversification, while specific rapidly evolving clusters control virulence, offering novel ...

Halomonas ventosae JPT10 promotes salt tolerance in foxtail millet (Setaria italica) by affecting the levels of multiple antioxidants and phytohormones

open access: yesPlant-Environment Interactions, 2023
Plant growth‐promoting bacterias (PGPBs) can increase crop output under normal and abiotic conditions. However, the mechanisms underlying the plant salt tolerance‐promoting role of PGPBs still remain largely unknown.

A Testis‐Specific Aralkylamine N‐Acetyltransferase Regulates Dimorphic Sperm Function and Male Fertility in Moths

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
We identify a Lepidoptera‐conserved testis‐specific arylalkylamine N‐acetyltransferase (LTNAT) that governs male moth fertility via a novel mechanism. LTNAT loss disrupts eupyrene sperm mitochondrial derivatives and impairs apyrene sperm motility, offering a safe molecular target for innovative pesticides and genetic pest control.

Methods for seedling identification of cucumber resistance to powdery mildew and its effect on the growth of cucumber seedlings

open access: yesVegetable Research
The severity of powdery mildew in cucumbers gravely impinges upon both yield and quality. In order to probe efficacious methods for early-stage resistance determination against powdery mildew in cucumbers, we utilized Xintai mici as an experimental ...
