Development of a Monitoring Plan for the Accidental Dispersal of Genetically Modified Oilseed Rape in Italy

open access: yesSeeds
This paper presents a pilot project conducted by ISPRA and ARPA Campania to develop a monitoring protocol to detect the presence of genetically modified (GM) oilseed rape (Brassica napus) plants resulting from accidental seed dispersal during ...

Patient therapy outcome modeling in cancer organoids is improved by cancer‐associated fibroblasts and organoid assembly convolution

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Patient‐derived organoids (PDOs) from pancreatic, colorectal, and gastric cancers were used to evaluate standard and experimental therapies. Incorporating cancer‐associated fibroblasts (CAFs) into organoid cultures improved patient therapy outcome prediction.

In vitro and in silico modelling of ROS1‐positive non‐small cell lung cancer reveals fusion‐dependent tyrosine kinase inhibitor responses

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Drug resistance limits treatment success in a subset of lung cancers driven by ROS1 gene alterations. Using patient‐derived cells and computer simulations, we studied three key mutations and how they affect five targeted drugs. The mutations reduced drug effectiveness in different ways by altering protein structure and behavior.

ZW4864‐mediated inhibition of the β‐catenin/BCL9/BCL9L complex reveals therapeutic potential in bladder cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
BCL9 and BCL9L drive bladder cancer progression by enhancing β‐catenin signaling, promoting proliferation, migration, invasion, and organoid growth. Genetic depletion of BCL9(L) suppresses malignant phenotypes, while pharmacological disruption of the β‐catenin/BCL9(L) complex with ZW4864 inhibits canonical Wnt signaling and tumor‐associated cellular ...

Comparative Study of Pinus radiata Plant Production Methods: Classical Seed Germination vs. Somatic Embryogenesis, from Operative to Biochemical Approaches

open access: yesSeeds
Because of the effects of climate change, a shortage of seeds from superior mother trees for forestry breeding programmes can occur. While biotechnological tools can help address this challenge, the benefits and drawbacks of each technique need to be ...
