Dipolar source localization from intracerebral SEEG recordings
2013 35th Annual International Conference of the IEEE Engineering in Medicine and Biology Society (EMBC), 2013This paper aims at exploring the feasibility of a brain source localization method from intracerebral stereo-electroencephalography (SEEG) measurements. The SEEG setup consists in multi-contact electrodes inserted in the brain volume, each containing about 10 collinear measuring contacts.

SEEG in Posterior Cortex Epilepsies
2018Defining the extent of the epileptogenic zone is particularly problematic in posterior cortex epilepsies (PCEs). Non-invasive information is frequently insufficient for surgical planning, and individually tailored surgery is likely to be curative only when guided by invasive investigation. Stereotactic placement of intracerebral multicontact electrodes

Fuzzy Algorithm for SEEG Classification
2011This work is focused on the study of the organization of the SEEG signals during epileptic seizures. We propose a fuzzy algorithm approach for the classification of the interesting signals. This new classification method use a non linear regression coefficient and is able to provide a relevant brain area structures organisation and to bring out ...

S151 Stereoelectroencephalography (SEEG) in children
Clinical Neurophysiology, 2017Objectives SEEG was designed for the exploration of adult drug-resistant focal epilepsies. The hypothesis for localizing the epileptogenic zone rely on the precise description of auras and of objective ictal features. During the electrical stimulations the accurate report of the evoked responses is required as well.

Multivariate analysis of SEEG signals during seizure
2011 Annual International Conference of the IEEE Engineering in Medicine and Biology Society, 2011Epilepsy is a neurological disorder that affects tens of millions of people every year and is characterized by sudden-onset seizures which are often associated with physical convulsions. Effective treatment and management of epilepsy would be greatly improved if convulsions could be caught quickly through early seizure detection. However, this is still

SEEG in Temporal Lobe Epilepsy
2018In the context of temporal lobe epilepsy (TLE), there are different scenarios where a stereo-electroencephalographic (SEEG) study must be strongly considered. This chapter reviews these situations, which include bitemporal epilepsy, unilateral lesional and non-lesional TLE, temporal ‘plus’ epilepsy (TPE), and pseudo-TLE.

Frontal lobe epilepsy (FLE) constitutes a challenge for presurgical evaluation because of specific anatomical and physiological factors. Semiological expression of frontal lobe seizures is notably varied and complex but nevertheless certain distinct patterns can be characterized, associated with different sublobar epilepsy localizations.

“Chronic” Electrodes in SEEG Exploration of Partial Epilepsies
1976The advantages of the stereoelectroencephalographic study of epileptic patients prior to surgical treatment through "chronically" implanted multielectrodes are illustrated and discussed. The reliability of the information provided by the cerebral electrical activity is strengthened by recording the patient on different days, in different physiological ...
