Stereotactic Electroencephalography (SEEG)
Drug resistant epilepsy (DRE) is not an uncommon clinical condition. DRE could cause disabling seizures and even sudden unexpected death in epilepsy (SUDEP). Pre-surgical evaluation is necessary to for surgical treatment to cure or palliative epilepsy. If feasible, surgical excision of an epileptic focus provides the best chance of cure.

Retrospective evaluation and SEEG trajectory analysis for interactive multi-trajectory planner assistant [PDF]
Purpose: Focal epilepsy is a neurological disease that can be surgically treated by removing area of the brain generating the seizures. The stereotactic electroencephalography (SEEG) procedure allows patient brain activity to be recorded in order to ...

ABSTRACT Objective Stereoelectroencephalography‐guided radiofrequency thermocoagulation (SEEG‐RFTC) has emerged as a safe and effective minimally invasive treatment for children with drug‐resistant focal epilepsy. Although evidence from real‐world studies remains limited, numerous pediatric cases have demonstrated promising outcomes. This retrospective

Getting the best outcomes from epilepsy surgery. [PDF]
Neurosurgery is an underutilized treatment that can potentially cure drug-refractory epilepsy. Careful, multidisciplinary presurgical evaluation is vital for selecting patients and to ensure optimal outcomes.
