Harnessing Fungal Biowelding for Constructing Mycelium‐Engineered Materials

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Mycelium‐bound composites (MBCs) offer low‐carbon alternatives for construction, yet interfacial bonding remains a critical challenge. This review examines fungal biowelding as a biocompatible adhesive, elucidating mycelium‐mediated interfacial mechanisms and their role in material assembly. Strategies to optimize biowelding are discussed, highlighting

Low‐Cost, Large‐Scale Nanoporous Metals by Mechanical Alloying, Oxide Reduction, and Dealloying of Powders

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Powder metal processing provides scalable advantages in nanoporous (np) metal development. Mechanical alloying is used to produce unique precursors for hybrid nanopore formation by oxide reduction and dealloying. As demonstrated in np Ag, this approach improves process efficiency while promoting smaller ligaments and larger pores, both of which are ...

Fast Reroute Mechanism for Satellite Networks Based on Segment Routing and Dual Timers Switching

open access: yesAerospace
Low-Earth-Orbit (LEO) satellite networks have the advantage of global internet coverage and low latency, and they have enjoyed great success in the past few years. In LEO satellite networks, laser-based inter-satellite links (ISLs) are widely employed to

Innovative Processing of Compacted Waste Aluminum Alloy Powders via Controlled Remelting and Solidification

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This study demonstrates an efficient recycling route for out‐of‐spec AlSi10Mg atomized powders through compaction and arc remelting followed by suction casting. By correlating compaction load, cooling rate, and resulting microstructure, we show that intermediate pressures (50–80 kN) and rapid cooling refine dendrites, reduce porosity, and enhance ...

A Computation-Efficient Approach for Segment Routing Traffic Engineering

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2019
The unprecedented growth of network traffic has brought excessive challenges to network operators. To prevent network congestion, network operators conduct traffic engineering (TE) for their routing optimization.

A Numerical–Experimental Approach for Multi‐Matrix Fiber‐Reinforced Plastics Characterization Using Finite Element Model Updating

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A numerical–experimental framework is developed for characterizing multi‐matrix fiber‐reinforced polymers (MM‐FRPs) combining epoxy and polyurethane matrices. Harmonic bending tests are integrated with finite element model updating (FEMU) to simultaneously identify elastic and viscoelastic material parameters.

Multitopology Routing With Virtual Topologies and Segment Routing

open access: yesInternational Journal of Network Management
ABSTRACTMultitopology routing (MTR) provides an attractive alternative to segment routing (SR) for traffic engineering when network devices cannot be upgraded. However, due to a high overhead in terms of link state messages exchanged by topologies and the need to frequently update link weights to follow evolving network conditions, MTR is often limited

Handbook of Establishing and Maintaining Oxygen‐Free Atmospheres

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This study presents a practical framework for creating oxygen‐free atmospheres at ambient pressure using silane‐doped inert gases. The results show that ultra‐low oxygen levels and strongly reduced water content can be achieved through controlled silane dosing, drying systems, and sensor monitoring.

TPR-S: Two-Phase Routing with Source-Dependent Traffic Distribution Ratios

open access: yesIEEE Open Journal of the Communications Society
Two-phase routing (TPR) is a routing strategy based on segment routing that aims to balance traffic load in two phases. In TPR, a source node distributes traffic to intermediate nodes in the first phase, and each intermediate node forwards it to a ...
