ADAPTIVE OPTICS WITH SEGMENTED MIRROR OR DEFORMABLE MIRROR

open access: yesLe Journal de Physique Colloques, 1980
Two kinds of adaptive optics (COAT) are presented : one with segmented mirrors (COAT = 19) with 19 mirrors and actuators and the other with a continuously deformable mirror and 7 actuators. Each mirror of COAT 19 is moved by a piezoelectric actuator performing correction and modulation (dithering in the 12-24 kHz band).

Co-Phase Error Detection for Segmented Mirrors Based on Far-Field Information and Transfer Learning

open access: yesPhotonics
The resolution of a telescope is closely related to its aperture size; however, the aperture of a single primary mirror telescope cannot be indefinitely enlarged due to design and manufacturing constraints.

Reciprocal control of viral infection and phosphoinositide dynamics

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Phosphoinositides, although scarce, regulate key cellular processes, including membrane dynamics and signaling. Viruses exploit these lipids to support their entry, replication, assembly, and egress. The central role of phosphoinositides in infection highlights phosphoinositide metabolism as a promising antiviral target.

Ultracompact Silicon Waveguide Bends Designed Using a Particle Swarm Optimization Algorithm

open access: yesIEEE Photonics Journal, 2021
In this study, the trajectory of a 90° bend is divided into two symmetric halves that are mirror images of each other as referenced to the symmetry axis at 45°, and each half is segmented into small curved sections.

Infrared laser sampling of low volumes combined with shotgun lipidomics reveals lipid markers in palatine tonsil carcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Nanosecond infrared laser (NIRL) low‐volume sampling combined with shotgun lipidomics uncovers distinct lipidome alterations in oropharyngeal squamous cell carcinoma (OPSCC) of the palatine tonsil. Several lipid species consistently differentiate tumor from healthy tissue, highlighting their potential as diagnostic markers.

Shape correction of thin mirrors in a reconfigurable modular space telescope [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
In order to facilitate the construction of future large space telescopes, the development of low cost, low mass mirrors is necessary. However, such mirrors suffer from a lack of structural stability, stiffness, and shape accuracy.

Establishment of a humanized patient‐derived xenograft mouse model of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer for preclinical evaluation of combination immunotherapy

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We have established a humanized orthotopic patient‐derived xenograft (Hu‐oPDX) mouse model of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer (HGSOC) that recapitulates human tumor–immune interactions. Using combined anti‐PD‐L1/anti‐CD73 immunotherapy, we demonstrate the model's improved biological relevance and enhanced translational value for preclinical ...

Simulation of the optical performance of the Fluorescence detector Array of Single-pixel Telescopes [PDF]

open access: yesEPJ Web of Conferences, 2019
The Fluorescence detector Array of Single-pixel Telescopes (FAST) is a proposed large-area, next-generation experiment for the detection of ultra-high energy cosmic rays via the atmospheric fluorescence technique. The telescope’s large field-of-view (30 ×

Bionic Covert Underwater Acoustic Communication Based on Time–Frequency Contour of Bottlenose Dolphin Whistle

open access: yesEntropy, 2022
In order to meet the requirements of communication security and concealment, as well as to protect marine life, bionic covert communication has become a hot research topic for underwater acoustic communication (UAC).

Large‐scale bidirectional arrayed genetic screens identify OXR1 and EMC4 as modifiers of αSynuclein aggregation

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Activation of the mitochondrial protein OXR1 increases pSyn129 αSynuclein aggregation by lowering ATP levels and altering mitochondrial membrane potential, particularly in response to MSA‐derived fibrils. In contrast, ablation of the ER protein EMC4 enhances autophagic flux and lysosomal clearance, broadly reducing α‐synuclein aggregates.
