Seismic fragility of typical bridges in moderate seismic zones

Engineering Structures, 2004
Abstract A set of fragility curves for the bridges commonly found in the Central and Southeastern United States (CSUS) is presented. Using the results of an inventory analysis of the typical bridges in the CSUS, four typical bridge types are identified.

PDF interpolation technique for seismic fragility analysis of bridges

open access: yesEngineering Structures, 2007
This study presents a probability density function (PDF) interpolation technique for the evaluation of seismic fragility curves as a function of the return period. Seismic fragility curves have been developed in terms of various seismic intensities, such

Seismic Fragility and Behavior of Spherical Pressure Vessels

Volume 5: Operations, Applications, and Components; Seismic Engineering; Non-Destructive Examination, 2021
Abstract Pressurized tanks are vessels that show high impermeability and strength against large internal pressures. These tanks can be used for liquid or gas storage. The internal pressures of the vessels used in gas storage can be at very high levels. These tanks are used in many different areas in the industry.

Fragility Analysis and Seismic Record Selection

Journal of Structural Engineering, 2011
This paper explores the influence of spectrum-matched and amplitude-scaled ground motions on the development of fragility functions for structures. The quantification of the influence of these two types of ensembles on ground motions in predicting demands of structural and nonstructural systems is addressed.
