Seismic Fragility Functions for Sewerage Pipelines

Pipelines 2015, 2015
Fragility functions (or fragility curves when presented graphically) are a well established tool to assess seismic risk to infrastructures. Given a sustained level of ground motion intensity, seismic fragility functions of sewerage pipelines are used for predicting earthquake-induced physical damage to sewer pipes. However, existing fragility functions

Fragility of seismically isolated FBR structure

Nuclear Engineering and Design, 1991
The purpose of this study is to present a methodology for the estimation of the fragility of an isolated FBR (Fast Breeder Reactor) structure. The method is based on the regression analyses between the intensity and response of an earthquake motion.

Seismic fragility analysis of 3D structures

Structural Safety, 2004
A statistical approach for time-variant system reliability problems is developed and investigated. The basic proposal is to use a response surface, characterised by a statistical model of the mixed type, to represent the capacity in an analytical limit-state function.

Seismic fragility of a reinforced concrete structure

Kerntechnik, 2013
Abstract Structures can be exposed to seismic loading. For structures of major importance, extreme seismic loadings have to be considered. The proof of safety for such loadings requires sophisticated analysis. This paper introduces an analysis method which of course still includes simplifications, but yields to a far more realistic ...

SEISMIC FRAGILITY ANALYSIS OF FRAME STRUCTURES

International Journal of Structural Stability and Dynamics, 2008
A seismic fragility analysis of structures is essential to prediction of the building behavior that is likely to occur during earthquakes. Normally, the probability of failure of a structure over a specified period of time is obtained through a convolution of the fragility curve with the seismic hazard curve for the structure site.

On the computation of seismic fragility curves

2008
Seismic damage assessment is dealt with in terms of fragility curves. Several approaches for their evaluation, including first-order reliability and a fuzzy random method, are reviewed. These methods are applied to a deterministic infilled reinforced-concrete frame, and the resulting fragility curves compared.
