Probabilistic Seismic Response Analysis on Continuous Bridges Under Near-Fault Ground Motions
Iranian Journal of Science and Technology, Transactions of Civil Engineering, 2019This paper focuses on the pulse-like near-fault ground motion, developing a probabilistic seismic demand model to estimate the seismic response of regular continuous bridges. A three-span bridge with continuous deck is taken as the basic case to establish 25 representative samples by changing the geometrical parameters and modeled with OpenSees ...

Seismic fragility analysis of bridge response due to spatially varying ground motions
Coupled systems mechanics, 2015The use of fragility curves in the design of bridges is becoming common these days. In this study, experimental data have been used to develop fragility curves for the potential of girder unseating of a three-segment bridge and a bridge-abutment system including the influence of spatially varying ground motions, pounding, and abutment movement.

Seismic ground response analysis. Comparison between numerical simulations and observed array data
2011In this paper the free-field response at the Large-Scale Seismic Test (LSST) site in Lotung, Taiwan, during the earthquake of May 1986 is studied, comparing the downhole motions recorded in-situ with the results of simple equivalent-linear visco-elastic analyses and advanced finite element numerical simulations.

Analysis of Local Site Effects on Seismic Ground Response under Various Earthquakes
2018By assessment of induced damages to structures and major infrastructures, seismic geotechnical researchers have concluded that the site conditions significantly influence on the failure distribution in urban and rural areas. Consequently, to determine the characteristics of seismic motions of the ground, it is essential to study the effective ...
