Influence of crustal layering and thickness on co-seismic effects of Wenchuan earthquake
Using the PSGRN/PSCMP software and the fault model offered by USGS and on the basis of finite rectangular dislocation theory and the local layered wave velocity structures of the crust-upper-mantle, the influences of crustal layering and thickness on co ...

I WAS glad to see that Prof. Grablovitz had laid claim to attention for some of his other memoirs which I had not at that time seen, and which are of much value. I would especially draw the attention of seismologists to his study of the relationship of temperature and outflow of a thermo-mineral spring at Porto d'Ischia to the tides and barometric ...

Basal conditions that facilitate fast ice flow are still poorly understood and their parameterization in ice‐flow models results in high uncertainties in ice‐flow and consequent sea‐level rise projections. Direct observations of basal conditions beneath modern ice streams are limited due to the inaccessibility of the bed.

Effect of Freeze–Thaw Action on Mesostructure of Ecological Fiber Reinforced Loess
Traditional chemical additives inevitably pollute, damage, and destroy the ecological environment and natural resources while simultaneously addressing the requirements of engineering construction in loess areas.

Satellite Remote Sensing in Seismology. A Review
A wide range of satellite methods is applied now in seismology. The first applications of satellite data for earthquake exploration were initiated in the ‘70s, when active faults were mapped on satellite images.

Spectral analysis for the inference of noisy Hawkes processes
Abstract Classic estimation methods for Hawkes processes rely on the assumption that observed event times are indeed a realization of a Hawkes process, without considering any perturbation of the model. In practice, observations are often altered by some noise, and so we consider, in this work, the observations to be the indistinguishable union of ...
