Extension of real time harmonic elimination theory to the traditional selective harmonic elimination

2016 8th International Conference on Modelling, Identification and Control (ICMIC), 2016
Generally speaking, almost the existing method used to implement the selective harmonic elimination in real time based on look-up table, which will consume lots of memories of the embedded processor. This paper propose a method that extends the real time harmonic elimination strategy based in modified carrier signal theory to the results obtained by ...

Selective harmonics elimination: PWM method versus optimized total harmonic distortion

4th International Conference on Power Engineering, Energy and Electrical Drives, 2013
This paper describes two different PWM methods to improve the quality of the output voltage waveform provided from five level inverter. The first one is the selective harmonics elimination (SHEPWM). The purpose is to cancel the 5th, 7th and 11th harmonic row.

Five-level converter with selective harmonic elimination for STATCOM

2015 Intl Aegean Conference on Electrical Machines & Power Electronics (ACEMP), 2015 Intl Conference on Optimization of Electrical & Electronic Equipment (OPTIM) & 2015 Intl Symposium on Advanced Electromechanical Motion Systems (ELECTROMOTION), 2015
In this paper, five-level Static Synchronous Compensator (STATCOM) is analyzed with reduced number of power switches. The simulation has been performed by using a digital signal processing unit (DSP) and Matlab/Simulink together. Selective harmonic elimination, single phase real (P) and reactive (Q) power methods are used to control power flow in the ...

Harmonic minimization in multilevel inverters using selective harmonic elimination PWM technique

2013 International Conference on Renewable Energy and Sustainable Energy (ICRESE), 2013
Generally the output voltage of the inverters must be sinusoidal. However the waveforms of practical inverters are non sinusoidal and contain certain harmonics. For low and medium power applications, square wave or quasi square wave may be acceptable but for high power applications, low distorted sinusoidal waveforms are required.

Selective harmonic elimination in a conventional inverter

2017 8th Annual Industrial Automation and Electromechanical Engineering Conference (IEMECON), 2017
Ordinary single phase inverter gives a square wave output which when applied to electrical appliances may damage the later, reduce its efficiency as well as life as this inverter output waveform is not sinusoidal and contains lower and higher order harmonics in addition to fundamental. Moreover, the output voltage cannot be controlled.

Selective harmonic elimination modulation method for multilevel inverters

2006 India International Conference on Power Electronics, 2006
Multilevel converter technology has recently emerged as a very important alternative in the area of high-power applications. Several modulation methods have been applied to multilevel Inverters. The modulation methods with higher switching frequency reduce filter size but increases switching losses.

Investigation about selective harmonic elimination in unbalanced multilevel inverters

2022 IEEE 21st Mediterranean Electrotechnical Conference (MELECON), 2022
In this paper 5 and 7 levels cascaded H-bridges inverters are considered, feeding by unequal dc voltage sources. The effect of these unbalancing operation is examined concerning harmonic analysis and total harmonic distortion of the output voltages. The system of equations, obtained by the expansion in the Fourier series of phase output voltage, is ...

Selective Harmonic Elimination for a Cascade Multilevel Inverter

2006 IEEE International Symposium on Industrial Electronics, 2006
This paper presents selective harmonic elimination method for cascade multilevel converters to eliminate the specified harmonics in the output voltage. The principle of the converter is analyzed. Then the switching angles are computed to eliminate the low order harmonics in theory. And the gating signals for the converter are given.

Three-phase multilevel inverter with selective harmonic elimination

2015 Workshop on Engineering Applications - International Congress on Engineering (WEA), 2015
This paper describes the design and develop of a common source three-phase multilevel power converter, with five levels in the phase voltage and nine levels in the line voltages. The modulation is optimized using genetic algorithms that perform a selective harmonics elimination of the first 20 components to improve power quality.

Analyzing of voltage-source selective harmonic elimination inverter

2011 IEEE International Conference on Mechatronics and Automation, 2011
In this paper, the selective harmonic elimination (SHE) technique is investigated to eliminate harmonic brought by PWM inverter. This technique involves the solutions of nonlinear, transcendental equations set representing the relation between the amplitude of fundamental wave and each order harmonic and the switching angles. Newton iteration method is
