Acoustic Measures Capture Speech Dysfunction in Spinocerebellar Ataxia
ABSTRACT Objective Spinocerebellar ataxias (SCA) are hereditary cerebellar degenerative disorders with a common feature of dysarthria, involving impaired phonatory and articulatory control of speech, thereby affecting social communication. In this study, we investigated whether acoustic measures could objectively measure speech dysfunction and identify

Selective Harmonic Mitigation Technique for High-Power Converters [PDF]
In high-power applications, the maximum switching frequency is limited due to thermal losses. This leads to highly distorted output waveforms. In such applications, it is necessary to filter the output waveforms using bulky passive filtering systems. The

Surface Tension Measurement of Ti‐6Al‐4V by Falling Droplet Method in Oxygen‐Free Atmosphere
In this article, the temperature‐dependent surface tension of free falling, oscillating Ti‐6Al‐4V droplets is investigated in both argon and monosilane doped, oxygen‐free atmosphere. Droplet temperature and oscillation are captured with one single high‐speed camera, and the surface tension is calculated with Rayleigh's formula.

Five-level selective harmonic elimination PWM strategies and multicarrier phase-shifted sinusoidal PWM: A comparison [PDF]
The multicarrier phase-shifted sinusoidal pulse-width modulation (MPS-SPWM) technique is well-known for its important advantage of offering an increased overall bandwidth as the number of carriers multiplied with their equal frequency directly controls ...
