Selenide Retention by Mackinawite

open access: yesEnvironmental Science & Technology, 2012
The isotope (79)Se may be of great concern with regard to the safe disposal of nuclear wastes in deep geological repositories due to its long half-life and potential mobility in the geosphere. The Se mobility is controlled by the oxidation state: the oxidized species (Se(IV)) and (Se(VI)) are highly mobile, whereas the reduced species (Se(0) and Se(-II)

Photocatalytic Properties of Zinc Selenide and Cobalt Selenide Nanocomposite

Journal of the chemical society of pakistan, 2022
In recent years, the environmental pollution caused by organic dyes has become more and more serious, so the removal of organic dyes has been paid more and more attention. In this work, ZnSe/CoSe was synthesized by hydrothermal method, and the activity of the composite photocatalytic materials was detected by visible light catalytic degradation of ...

Mechanochemical syntheses of antimony selenide, tin selenides and two tin antimony selenides

Thermochimica Acta, 2003
Abstract Sb 2 Se 3 , SnSe, SnSe 2 , SnSb 2 Se 4 , and Sn 2 Sb 6 Se 11 were prepared from powdered elements in a planetary ball mill. The progress of the reactions was investigated in situ by difference thermoanalysis and ex situ by X-ray analyses. SnSb 2 Se 4 , and Sn 2 Sb 6 Se 11 are probably both positioned in the homogeneity region of the only ...

The Infra-Red Absorption by Hydrogen Selenide, Deuterium Selenide and Deutero-Hydrogen Selenide

The Journal of Chemical Physics, 1939
The infra-red spectra of H2Se, D2Se and HDSe have been measured and the positions of the three fundamental frequencies for each molecule have been determined. These are; for H2Se v1 = 2260 cm—1, v2 = 1074 cm—1, v3 = 2350 cm—1; for D2Se, v1 = 1630 cm—1, v2 = 745 cm—1, v3 = 1696 cm—1; for HDSe, v1 = 1691 cm—1, v2 = 905 cm—1 and v3 = 2352 cm—1 ...

Optical gain in gallium selenide and indium selenide

Physica B+C, 1981
Abstract The stimulated emission at 80 K from layered single crystals of GaSe and InSe has been studied at high excitation density by means of nitrogen and dye laser, respectively. On both the semiconductors we observe the stimulated emission associated with exciton-exciton scattering.

Photoconductivity of Indium selenide

Vacuum, 1953
Indium selenide layers have been formed by successive evaporations of indium and selenium and by direct evaporation of indium selenide. The films are photoconductive with a long wavelength cutoff at about 2 microns and peaks in their spectral response at 0.6 and 1.4 microns. A different time constant is associated with each peak.

Phase studies in the system mercury selenide - manganese selenide

Materials Research Bulletin, 1977
Abstract HgSe forms solid solutions with MnSe while retaining the sphalerite structure. The solubility limit as determined from lattice constant measurements is 38.5 mol % MnSe at 700°C. No detectable solubility of HgSe in rocksalt type MnSe could be observed. The phase relationships within the region of HgSe solid solution are given based on DTA and
