Hydrogen selenide and methylselenol
1987Publisher Summary Hydrogen selenide and related forms of selenium are difficult to handle. The absence of direct methods for identification of H2Se led to develop a method based on the use of Sanger's reagent (1-fluoro-2,4-dinitrobenzene, FDNB) to trap H2Se in a stable form upon volatilization from acid medium in a stream of nitrogen.

The complexing characteristics of insoluble selenides. 1. Silver selenide
Canadian Journal of Chemistry, 1970The aqueous solubility of the system silver selenide has been investigated in an inert atmosphere of nitrogen at a unit molar ionic strength and constant temperature of 25° C. The experimental evidence indicates the formation of two aqueous species [Ag2(HSe)(OH)], and [Ag(Se)2(OH)]4− in contact with the precipitated selenide in different regions of ...

The complexing characteristics of insoluble selenides. II. Manganese selenide
Journal of the Less Common Metals, 1970Abstract The aqueous solubility of manganese selenide determined at 25 °C and unit molar ionic concentration has revealed the formation of only free manganese ions and a complex aqueous species [Mn(HSe)(OH)]in the supernatent phase in contact with the insoluble compound. The solubility product of MnSe and the stability constant of the complex species

Metabolism of Hydrogen Selenide and Methylated Selenides
1979Inorganic forms of selenium are readily metabolized to a variety of or-ganoselenium compounds in microorganisms, plants, and animals. The metabolism of selenium may either enhance or reduce the biological activity of this element. Nutritionally active inorganic selenium compounds, such as sodium selenite or sodium selenate, can be converted to ...
