Mechanism of action of selenious acid in the electrodeposition of manganese

open access: yesJournal of Applied Electrochemistry, 1977
The effect of selenious acid as an addition agent in the electrodeposition of manganese was studied by analysing the current-potential curves for manganese deposition.

The oxidation of thallium(I) by selenious acid

open access: yesAnalytica Chimica Acta, 1955
Abstract A new and simple method for the quantitative determination of thallium based on the oxidation of TI(I) to TI(III) by selenious acid has been described. The precipitated selenium is weighed directly. Furthermore, the thallic hydroxide obtained by the addition of excess alkali to the filtrate is dissolved in HCl and determined iodometrically ...

Rapid Detection of Tetracycline Residues in Milk Using Colorimetric Sensor Based on Polymethylmethacrylate (PMMA) and Polystyrene (PS) Polymers. [PDF]

open access: yesJ Anal Methods Chem
In this study, the colorimetric approach is applied on an indicator strip for tetracycline detection in milk residue. Indicator strips made from PMMA‐concentrated H2SO4 (9:1), PMMA‐Mecke (9:1), and PMMA‐Marquis (9:1) are the best compositions that can detect tetracycline within 10 s. The test results using scanning electron microscopy–energy‐dispersive

Raman Spectral Studies of Molten Selenious Acid

open access: yesThe Journal of Chemical Physics, 1962
Photoelectric Raman spectra of molten selenious acid, obtained in the temperature range of about 70° to 175°C, provide evidence for the existence of a new species H2Se2O5. Comparisons of Raman bands of molten selenious acid with those of very concentrated aqueous solutions of sodium biselenite indicate common frequencies.

Presumptive Tests for Xylazine-A Computer Vision Approach. [PDF]

open access: yesAnal Sci Adv
ABSTRACT Abuse of xylazine is an immediate global public health concern. We report the distinct and measurable colour changes when xylazine is exposed to the Mandelin, Marquis and Mecke presumptive test reagents. The colour changes observed with xylazine are distinct from those of drugs that give colour changes from the same presumptive tests.

Reduction of selenious acid into polyselenides on aluminium gallam

open access: yesProceedings of the 9th International Scientific and Practical Conference of Students, Post-graduates Modern Techniques and Technologies, 2003. MTT 2003., 2005
This paper investigates the use of aluminum gallam to generate polyselenides by the reduction of elementary selenium, selenides and selenates in aqueous alkaline solutions. The results show that the reduction of SeO3 2- on aluminum gallam generated selenides and polyselenides.

Molecular Crystals for Nonlinear Optics - Salts of Nitrogen-containing Bases with Selenious Acid and Hypophosphorous Acid [PDF]

open access: yes, 2023
In this bachelor thesis, systems of selenious acid and hypophosphorous acid with six organic bases (2-aminopyrimidine, 3-amino-1,2,4-triazole, 4-amino-1,2,4-triazole, 3,5-diamino-1,2,4-triazole, 2-aminoguanidine and biguanide) were studied as the source ...
