The Future of Research in Cognitive Robotics: Foundation Models or Developmental Cognitive Models?

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
Research in cognitive robotics founded on principles of developmental psychology and enactive cognitive science would yield what we seek in autonomous robots: the ability to perceive its environment, learn from experience, anticipate the outcome of events, act to pursue goals, and adapt to changing circumstances without resorting to training with ...

Improving the Robustness of Visual Teach‐and‐Repeat Navigation Using Drift Error Correction and Event‐Based Vision for Low‐Light Environments

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
Visual teach‐and‐repeat (VTR) navigation allows robots to learn and follow routes without building a full metric map. We show that navigation accuracy for VTR can be improved by integrating a topological map with error‐drift correction based on stereo vision.

ST-SCGNN: A Spatio-Temporal Self-Constructing Graph Neural Network for Cross-Subject EEG-Based Emotion Recognition and Consciousness Detection

IEEE journal of biomedical and health informatics, 2023
In this paper, a novel spatio-temporal self-constructing graph neural network (ST-SCGNN) is proposed for cross-subject emotion recognition and consciousness detection. For spatio-temporal feature generation, activation and connection pattern features are

Private Self-Consciousness, Public Self-Consciousness, and Trait Anxiety

Psychological Reports, 1981
In 1975, Fenigstein, Scheier, and Buss (2) published a scale to measure individual differences in self-consciousness. Three subscales were differentiated: private self-consciousness, public self-consciousness, and social anxiety. In the initial report, low and nonsignificant correlations of .23 and .26 were reported between private and public self ...

Awareness of the passage of time and self‐consciousness: What do meditators report?

PsyCh Journal, 2019
What do humans mean when they say that time passes quickly or slowly? In this article, we try to respond to this question on the basis of our studies on the judgment of the passage of time and its links with the judgment of physical durations.
