Apparent Self-Fertility in Neurospora crassa [PDF]

SUMMARY: Single ascospores which gave rise to temporarily self-fertile cultures were found in Neurospora crassa. Genetical and cytological evidence suggested that these ascospores were disomic for the chromosome containing the mating-type locus, the disomy having arisen following partial desynapsis at meiosis and unequal distribution of univalents.

Foliar spraying of CS‐CDs can form a film on the leaves of Brassica rapa, effectively reducing the enrichment and absorption of PS in the leaves, while increasing the biomass and nutrient content of the plants. In addition, CS‐CDs can also enrich the interfoliar microbial community and activate the plant's own defense metabolic pathways.

Paternal Caffeine Exposure Programs Offspring Stress Vulnerability via Sperm Dlk1‐Dio3 Imprinting‐Directed Remodeling of a Novel Neural Circuit

The study elucidates that paternal preconception stress can drive offspring hyperresponsivity of the stress system via hypomethylation of a specific DNA region in sperm. This key link is confirmed in a cohort of prospective fathers: the epigenetic alteration is associated with elevated stress hormone levels.
