2017In this chapter, we explore the role of self-forgiveness in hypersexual behavior. Hypersexual behavior, also known as sexual addiction, sexual compulsivity, and sexual impulsivity, involves sexual thoughts, feelings, and behaviors that are excessive, difficult to control, and cause distress and problems in a person’s life.

The Southern Journal of PhilosophyAbstract In this article, I try to resolve a contradiction arising from the combination of two theses: (1) self‐forgiveness is sometimes morally justified and (2) only victims can rightly forgive. As has been pointed out by other philosophers, both are plausible, but the two taken together are inconsistent.
