Activation of the mitochondrial protein OXR1 increases pSyn129 αSynuclein aggregation by lowering ATP levels and altering mitochondrial membrane potential, particularly in response to MSA‐derived fibrils. In contrast, ablation of the ER protein EMC4 enhances autophagic flux and lysosomal clearance, broadly reducing α‐synuclein aggregates.

Synthesis of mechanically strong waterborne poly(urethane-urea)s capable of self-healing at elevated temperatures [PDF]
Although various chemistries have been introduced into polyurethanes in order to obtain self-healing abilities, implementing these materials in applications requiring high strength is challenging as strong materials imply a limited molecular motion, but ...

Derivation and characterization of retinal pigment epithelium from urine‐derived iPSCs
Age‐related macular degeneration causes vision loss via RPE dysfunction and loss. Traditional iPSC therapies rely on invasive biopsies, limiting scalability. Here, we utilize urine‐derived stem cells as an accessible source to generate u‐iPSCs, successfully differentiated into pigmented RPE. This “Urine‐to‐Retina” platform provides a promising path for

Based on the concept of: "Collective Unconscious", from C. G. Jung, the authors discuss the theme of the "Wounded-healer", as an archetype to enlighten the practice and the training of modern medicine. By the understanding of the deep meanings of the ancient myth of Asclepius (Esculapio) a solid help can be provide on the everyday problems of the ...

Electrochemical assessment of the self-healing properties of cerium doped sol-gel coatings on 304L stainless steel substrates [PDF]
The present work aims at assessing the corrosion behavior of 304L stainless steel substrates pre-treated with 3-glicidoxypropyltrimethoxy silane (GPTMS) solutions modified with cerium nitrate or cerium oxide nanoparticles.

We present a model of percolation mimicking the self-healing dynamics of a smart grid. While in the case of random graphs it is possible to work out an analytic solution, in the case of two dimensional networks we must resort to numerical simulations. Our findings hint that for planar lattices duality plays a key role yet to be understood.
