Synthetic reflection self-injection-locked microcombs

open access: yesNature Photonics
AbstractLaser-driven microresonators have enabled chip-integrated light sources with unique properties, including the self-organized formation of ultrashort soliton pulses and frequency combs (microcombs). While poised to impact major photonic applications such as spectroscopy, sensing and optical data processing, microcombs still necessitate complex ...

Resonant micro-optical gyro based on self-injection locking

open access: yesOptics Express, 2020
We propose the idea and design of a novel resonant micro-optical gyro based on a self-injection locking technique. By enhancing the reciprocity and measuring beat frequency, the sensitivity of gyro is improved effectively, which is usually limited by two main factors: low signal-to-noise ratio and immature signal detecting technique.

Injection Locking of a Trapped-Ion Phonon Laser [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
We report on injection locking of optically excited mechanical oscillations of a single, trapped ion. The injection locking dynamics are studied by analyzing the oscillator spectrum with a spatially selective Fourier transform technique and the ...

A Compact Self-Injection-Locked Narrow-Linewidth Diode Laser with Narrowband Dielectric Filter

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2023
The self-injection-locked diode laser can significantly reduce the linewidth down to a sub-100 kHz level but requires optical filtering that is much narrower than the laser cavity linewidth.

Gain-Switched Optical Frequency Comb Source Using a Hybrid Integrated Self-Injection Locking DFB Laser

open access: yesIEEE Photonics Journal, 2022
A hybrid integrated gain-switched (GS) optical frequency comb (OFC) source with eight pure continuous comb lines within 3-dB of the spectral envelope peak and a narrow linewidth of 615 kHz is proposed and demonstrated by coupling a silicon nitride ...

Phase and Power Control in the RF Magnetron Power Stations of Superconducting Accelerators

open access: yes, 2017
Phase and power control methods that satisfy the requirements of superconducting accelerators to magnetron RF sources were considered by a simplified kinetic model of a magnetron driven by a resonant injected signal.

An Optomechanical Oscillator on a Silicon Chip [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
The recent observation on radiation-pressure-driven self-sustained oscillation in high-Q optical microresonators has created new possibilities for development of photonic devices that benefit from unique functionalities offered by these “optomechanical ...

Blue Laser Diode System With an Enhanced Wavelength Tuning Range

open access: yesIEEE Photonics Journal, 2020
A prism-based self-injection locked seamlessly tunable blue InGaN/GaN laser diode composite cavity system is presented. A rigorous analysis of this external cavity diode laser (ECDL) system is performed at two different optical feedback powers. At
