Multimodal Actuation and Environment Adaptive Strategies of Bio‐Inspired Micro/Nanorobots in Precision Medicine

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
An introduction for multidrive and environment‐adaptive micro/nanorobotics: design and fabrication strategies, intelligent actuation, and their applications. Various intelligent actuation approaches—magnetic, acoustic, optical, chemical, and biological—can be synergistically designed to enhance flexibility and adaptive behavior for precision medicine ...

Anomalous diffusion of self-propelled particles

open access: yes, 2023
The transport equation of active motion is generalised to consider time-fractional dynamics for describing the anomalous diffusion of self-propelled particles observed in many different systems.

The Countoscope for self-propelled particles

open access: yes
Particle number fluctuations $N(t)$, measured in virtual observation boxes of an image or a simulation, offer a way to quantify particle dynamics when particle tracking is impractical, such as in high-density systems. While traditionally limited to equilibrium diffusive systems, we extend this approach -- named ``Countoscope'' -- to out-of-equilibrium ...

In Situ Photopolymerization of Smectic B Liquid‐Crystalline Electrolytes from Mesogenic Phosphate–Diacrylate/Ionic Liquid Complexes for High‐Performance Soft Ionic Actuators

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
A flexible liquid‐crystalline electrolyte membrane via in situ photopolymerization of a phosphate‐functionalized mesogen, ionic liquid, and diacrylate monomer is developed. The resulting smectic B (SmB)‐phase structure enables 2D ion transport with high conductivity (10−4 S cm−1).

Nonlinear Brownian motion - mean square displacement

open access: yesCondensed Matter Physics, 2004
The stochastic dynamics of self-propelled Brownian particles is studied by means of the Langevin and the Fokker-Planck approach. We model the driving by a nonlinear friction function which has a negative part at small velocities, leading to active ...

Collective dynamics of self-propelled particles in confining environments [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Self-propelled particles are a class of far-from-equilibrium systems which present many complex, emergent features that are not obvious from the microscopic dynamics.

Criticality of the zero-temperature jamming transition probed by self-propelled particles

open access: yes, 2018
Critical scaling of athermal self-propelled particles suggests the criticality of the jamming transition in the perspective of active particles.
