Cervical cancer causes 350,000 deaths annually, with 90% occurring in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs), despite being largely preventable through vaccination and screening.

Translating whole‐genome doubling into precision medicine in cancer
Whole‐genome doubling creates a WGD‐positive tumor state characterized by persistent chromosomal instability, karyotypic diversification, and cellular stress. These same biological pressures drive aggressive tumor evolution while exposing therapeutic vulnerabilities, providing a rationale for WGD‐informed precision medicine. Whole‐genome doubling (WGD)

Assessment of HPV screening modalities within primary care: a systematic review
IntroductionMost cervical cancer precancerous lesions are associated with high-risk human papillomavirus (HPV) subtypes. Early detection through screening is crucial for preventing and managing HPV-related diseases.

CEACAM1 participation in breast cancer progression
In invasive breast cancer (BC), CEACAM1 shifts from an apical to a uniform membranous/cytoplasmic pattern, or is lost, as tumors dedifferentiate, inversely tracking the Ki‐67 proliferative index. In MCF‐7 cells, only CEACAM1‐4L suppresses proliferation, repressing cell cycle and growth factor genes.

The COVID-19 pandemic disrupted routine healthcare services, including testing and treatment for sexually transmitted infections (STIs). At the same time, it fostered optimism about the potential of direct-to-consumer (DTC) self-testing solutions, fueled

Mechanisms and therapeutic opportunities of the ribotoxic stress response in cancer
Cancer cells' high translational demand creates opportunities to therapeutically target ribosome function. Ribosome stalling and collisions activate ZAKα and the ribotoxic stress response (RSR), which can trigger rapid, p53‐independent apoptosis in cancer.

Previous examinations of relations between bullying, victimisation, and self-concept have been flawed by erroneous research practices such as the un-attenuated use of dichotomous variables to measure relationships between continuous variables (Finger ...

Optimizing photoactivation of PA‐mCherry for optical pooled CRISPR screens
Photoactivatable PA‐mCherry finds widespread use to optically tag individual cells. However, confocal 405 nm UV laser‐scanning (normal scan) is much less efficient than widefield UV illumination, limiting the use of PA‐mCherry on confocal instruments. We remedy this limitation by reporting that rapid and repeated confocal scanning with a low‐intensity,

Syndemic Synergy of HPV, HIV, and HSV-2 for Oncogenic HPV Replication in Female Sex Workers
Background: Female sex workers (FSWs) in sub-Saharan Africa bear a disproportionate burden of sexually transmitted infections, including HIV, high-risk HPV (HR-HPV), and herpes simplex virus type 2 (HSV-2).

Use of OC curves in quality control with an example of sampling for mycotoxins [PDF]
An ‘operating characteristics’ (OC) curve is a simple tool that has been in use in quality control for many years but does not seem to be widely applied in the particulate sampling field.
