Grounding Large Language Models for Robot Task Planning Using Closed‐Loop State Feedback

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
BrainBody‐Large Language Model (LLM) introduces a hierarchical, feedback‐driven planning framework where two LLMs coordinate high‐level reasoning and low‐level control for robotic tasks. By grounding decisions in real‐time state feedback, it reduces hallucinations and improves task reliability.

Efficient Object-Oriented Semantic Mapping With Object Detector

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2019
Incrementally, building a 3D map in which object instances are semantically annotated has a wide range of applications, including scene understanding, human–robot interactions, and simultaneous localization and mapping extensions.

How Conceptual Are Semantic Maps?

open access: yesLinguistic Discovery, 2010
The question addressed in this paper is whether (and to what extent) a semantic map aimed at representing the multifunctionality of a given construction (or set of constructions) in discourse can be thought of as endowed with conceptual reality. To be considered as a mental representa-tion that is essentially similar in all human brains, such a map ...

Improving the Robustness of Visual Teach‐and‐Repeat Navigation Using Drift Error Correction and Event‐Based Vision for Low‐Light Environments

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
Visual teach‐and‐repeat (VTR) navigation allows robots to learn and follow routes without building a full metric map. We show that navigation accuracy for VTR can be improved by integrating a topological map with error‐drift correction based on stereo vision.

Continual Learning for Multimodal Data Fusion of a Soft Gripper

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
Models trained on a single data modality often struggle to generalize when exposed to a different modality. This work introduces a continual learning algorithm capable of incrementally learning different data modalities by leveraging both class‐incremental and domain‐incremental learning scenarios in an artificial environment where labeled data is ...

Context-aware robot navigation using interactively built semantic maps

open access: yesPaladyn, 2018
We discuss the process of building semantic maps, how to interactively label entities in them, and how to use them to enable context-aware navigation behaviors in human environments.

Semantic Map Geometry: Two Approaches

open access: yesLinguistic Discovery, 2010
This paper discusses two ways in which the geometry of a semantic map can be defined: on the basis of a set of cross-linguistic data or on the basis of a semantic analysis of the meanings involved. I will argue that under a purely ?data-driven? approach certain important aspects of contiguity in semantic maps, like exceptions and family resemblance ...

Challenges and Future Directions in Assessing the Quality and Completeness of Advanced Materials Safety Data for Re‐Usability: A Position Paper From the Nanosafety Community

open access: yesAdvanced Sustainable Systems, EarlyView.
Nanosafety data provide a guiding example for establishing best practices in data management, aligning with FAIR principles and quality criteria. This review explores existing quality assessment approaches for reliability, relevance, and completeness, emphasizing the need for harmonization and adaptation to nanomaterials and advanced materials. The aim
