A semi‐analytical method for the wave‐induced seabed response
International Journal for Numerical and Analytical Methods in Geomechanics, 1994AbstractA general semi‐analytical method is presented for the analysis of seabed response under wave action during a storm. The seabed is idealized as a poro‐elastic medium filled with a single compressible fluid with anisotropic flow. The coupled process of fluid flow and deformation of soil skeleton is formulated in the framework of Biot's theory. The

A Semi-Analytic Method For Time-Dependent Problems
1995Several methods have been proposed which apply the boundary element method to solve time-dependent problems. The most commonly used methods involve time-stepping procedures. These procedures allow errors to accumulate and can become computationally expensive if a solution is required after a significant time has elapsed [1]. To counter these problems a

Mars entry guidance using a semi-analytical method
Advances in Space Research, 2019Abstract Future Mars missions may require improved landed accuracy to facilitate the landing site selection and finally access a region of complex terrain with high scientific return. This paper is to develop a novel, robust, and precision entry guidance algorithm for Mars entry vehicles with low lift-to-drag ratios.

Semi-analytical method for n–k inversion of ellipsometry data
Applied Optics, 2019A semi-analytical method is presented to unambiguously perform the wavelength-by-wavelength extraction of the optical constants (refractive index n and extinction coefficient k) in a thin film from the ellipsometry measurement. It works by recasting the ellipsometric equations under a parametric polynomial form and drawing parametric curves from the ...

Some semi-analytical methods in numerical fluid dynamics
2008In many problems it is possible to obtain inexact, but still (in some sense) leading approximations to the solution in analytic form. A decision then becomes available, whether to devise numerical methods for solving the equations directly as they stand, or whether to transform them in such a way as to take this analytic information into account.
