Degradation mechanism of the von Willebrand factor A2 domain by nattokinase
Nattokinase, a natto‐derived protease, exhibits potent antithrombotic effects. This study demonstrates that nattokinase directly cleaves the von Willebrand factor (vWF) A2 domain in vitro. Unlike the native regulator ADAMTS13, nattokinase degrades folded vWF independently of shear stress.

Mechanistic multilayer model for non-invasive bioimpedance of intact skin
An approximate semi-analytical solution based on a Hankel transform of a mechanistic model for electrical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) is derived for a non-invasive axisymmetric concentric probe with m electrodes measuring the response of n layers of ...

A space-time domain RBF method for 2D wave equations
In the present study, we demonstrate the feasibility to reveal the numerical solution of the multi-dimensional wave equations. A simple semi-analytical meshless method was proposed to obtain the numerical solution of the wave equation with a newly ...

Approximate analytic solution of heat conduction in hollow semi-spheres flying at hypersonic speed
Heat transfer in blunt noses of hypersonic vehicles with coolant inside can be approximately considered as heat conduction in hollow semi-sphere with aerodynamic heating on the outer boundary and enhanced cooling on the inner boundary.

An unexpected alternative interaction site for ethyl viologen was identified in formate dehydrogenase 1 from Methylorubrum extorquens. Combined mutagenesis, kinetic analysis, and docking revealed that aromatic residues near an iron–sulfur cluster enable flavin mononucleotide‐independent electron transfer, offering a framework for engineering improved ...

A numerical solution for an inverse heat conduction problem [PDF]
In this paper, we demonstrate the existence and uniqueness a semianalytical solution of an inverse heat conduction problem (IHCP) in the form: ut = uxx in the domain D = {(x, t)| 0 < x < 1, 0 < t T}, u(x, T) = f(x), u(0, t) = g(t), and ux(0, t) = p(t ...

Semi-Analytical Solution for Elastic Impact of Two Beams
This paper presents semi-analytical solution for the problem of elastic impact of two beams. The solution is based on the finite element discretization of the structure and equation of motion solution using diagonalization method for solving a system of differential equations. This procedure avoids temporal discretization typical for numerical methods,

Semi-analytical solution for gable roofs under uplift wind loads
A common type of failure observed during hurricane events is the detachment of the roofs of light-frame wood houses because of the inability of the roof-to-wall connection (RTWC) to transfer uplift wind loads acting on the roofs.

Keratin 19 (KRT19) is overexpressed in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer with high levels of Kallikrein‐related peptidases (KLK) 4–7 and is associated with poor survival. In vivo analyses demonstrate that elevated KRT19 increases peritoneal tumour burden.

Semi-analytical method for solving stresses in slope under general loading conditions
Assessing the stress distribution within the slope in geotechnical engineering is critical. Despite the widely available numerical methods, no analytical solutions are available for determining the stress distribution within a slope under general loading
