Exciton Binding Energy of Phosphorescent Emitter Molecules in Organic Light‐Emitting Diodes
Energy level alignment is key to efficient OLED design, yet determining LUMO energies remains challenging. A methodology based on field‐induced dissociation and kinetic Monte Carlo simulations is presented to extract LUMO energies of iridium‐based phosphorescent emitters from their exciton binding energy.

Bistability and boundary crisis in a semiconductor laser with phase-conjugate feedback
We present a detailed study of a route to chaos via quasiperiodicity on a torus in a semiconductor laser with phase-conjugate feedback. Highlighting the use of new tools that go far beyond mere simulation, we compute bifurcation diagrams and unstable ...

Ultrasensitive Anti‐Stokes Luminescence Thermometry in Transition Metal Dichalcogenide Monolayers
We demonstrate a highly sensitive nanothermometer using anti‐Stokes photoluminescence, also known as photoluminescence upconversion (UPL), in monolayer tungsten disulfide. A strong resonantly enhanced UPL is observed, confirming the central role of optical phonons in the PL upconversion mechanism.

Mode structure of a semiconductor laser with feedback from two external filters
We study a semiconductor laser subject to filtered optical feedback from two separate filters. This work is motivated by an application where two fiber gratings are used to stabilize the output of a laser source.

Indication of current-injection lasing from an organic semiconductor
In this study, we investigate the lasing properties of 4,4′-bis[(N-carbazole)styryl]biphenyl thin films under electrical pumping. The electroluminescent devices incorporate a mixed-order distributed feedback SiO2 grating into an organic light-emitting ...

A 271.8 nm deep-ultraviolet laser diode for room temperature operation
We present a deep-ultraviolet semiconductor laser diode that operates under current injection at room temperature and at a very short wavelength. The laser structure was grown on the (0001) face of a single-crystal aluminum nitride substrate.
