Mathematical Modeling of Semiconductor Lasers [PDF]

The authors study the modeling of a semiconductor laser as a transmission problem for the electric potentials. At the interface, potential and flux experience a jump. It is shown that the resulting nonlinear transmission problem is well-posed for physically meaningful sets of parameters if either Dirichlet or Neumann boundary conditions are prescribed.
