Sensitivity Analysis for Dependent Variables*
Decision Sciences, 2000Decision analysts use sensitivity analysis to identify influential variables, to determine which input variables to model stochastically, and to characterize scenarios that could affect a change in the rank ordering of the alternatives. A frequently recommended sensitivity analysis technique is “one‐way” sensitivity analysis, which determines a ...

Complex Variable Method for Eigensolution Sensitivity Analysis
AIAA Journal, 2005The application of complex variable method (CVM) for eigenvalue and eigenvector sensitivity analysis is presented. Gradi ent -based methods usually used in structural optimization require accurate sensitivity information. CVM is accurate, robust and easy to implement as compared to other approximate sensitivity analysis methods. By CVM, the first order

Variables Determining Flicker Sensitivity in Small Fields*
Journal of the Optical Society of America, 1970The effect of size, luminance, and image movements on detection of flicker in small centrally located fields was studied with 12°, 1°, and 2° targets at average retinal illuminances of 26, 260, and 2600 td. When these fields were viewed in an essentially dark surround, a maximum of sensitivity was found at approximately 10 Hz.

Dark resonances with variable Doppler sensitivity
Physical Review A, 2005We have studied dark resonances in a thermal gas of rubidium atoms using a variable angle between the two driving optical beams. The inclined angle was tuned between a Doppler-free situation (i.e., collinear beams) and near 10{sup -3} rad, yielding an effective Doppler sensitivity of a far-infrared photon.

Fixed and Variable Constraints in Sensitivity Analysis
SIAM Journal on Control and Optimization, 1980Sufficient conditions are obtained for the $\underset{\raise0.3em\hbox{$\smash{\scriptscriptstyle-}$}}{C} ^1 $ dependence on a parameter of a local minimizes and associated Lagrange multipliers for parametrized families of nonlinear programming problems in which some constraints do not vary with the parameter. A class of sets, called “cyrtohedra”, with

Computing CHEMKIN Sensitivities Using Complex Variables
Part A: Combustion and Alternative Energy Technology; Computers in Engineering; Drilling Technology; Environmental Engineering Technology; Composite Materials Design and Analysis; Manufacturing and Services, 2001Abstract This paper discusses an accurate numerical approach of computing the Jacobian Matrix for the calculation of low dimensional manifolds for kinetic chemical mechanism reduction. The approach is suitable for numerical computations of large scale problems and is more accurate than the finite difference approach of computing ...

Variable sensitivity of vectorial shearing interferometer
SPIE Proceedings, 2004A vectorial shearing interferometer with variable sensitivity based in the rotation of a pair of wedge prisms is discussed. The prism rotations incorporates differential and extended wavefront controlled displacements, combining the advantages of high sensitivity of conventional interferometers and low sensitivity of traditional shearing ...
