Fault-Tolerant Predictive Control with Sensor Faults

In this paper, a Fault-Tolerant Model Predictive Controller (FTMPC) is developed for linear Variable Parameter Systems (LPVs) subject to sensor faults and input constraints. First, an augmented state-space model contains both state variables and estimation error is used to synthesize a robust predictive controller while an observer is designed to ...

Fault Tolerant Distributed Sensor Networks

2020
Fault tolerant computer systems are systems designed around the concepts of fault tolerance. In essence, they must be able to continue working to a level of satisfaction in the presence of faults. Fault tolerance is not just a property of individual machines; it may also characterize the rules by which they interact.

Fault Detection with Sensor Errors

IFAC Proceedings Volumes, 2001
ABSTRACT A scheme for fault detection with sensor errors is discussed. Sensor output generally contains scale factor error and misalignment error as well as constant bias. In this paper the neural network is applied to compensate the residuals calculated by optimal parity vector method in order to remove the effect of sensor errors.

Fusion-based sensor fault detection

Proceedings of 8th IEEE International Symposium on Intelligent Control, 2002
A fusion-based fault detection and diagnosis system is introduced for a multisensor system where the fault detection process is divided into three stages and the uncertainty-reductive-fusion technique is used to detect possible sensor failures. A fuzzy rule-based diagnosis is performed in order to analyze and to try to correct for the signaled faults. >

Observer-Based Fuzzy Adaptive Sensor Fault Compensation for Uncertain Nonlinear Strict-Feedback Systems

IEEE transactions on fuzzy systems, 2018
This paper investigates the adaptive fuzzy tracking control problem for a class of uncertain nonlinear strict-feedback systems under sensor faults and unmeasured states.

Single-Sensor Incipient Fault Detection

IEEE Sensors Journal, 2011
This study presents a new detection method based on wavelet transform and kernel principal component analysis (KPCA) for single-sensor incipient faults. Wavelet transform is first utilized to extract the featured information of process noise while the single-sensor fault is analyzed by KPCA subsequently.

Interval estimation of sensor fault based on zonotopic Kalman filter

International Journal of Control, 2019
This paper studies the problem of sensor fault interval estimation for discrete-time linear system with unknown but bounded disturbances and noises. A descriptor system which is equivalent to the original system is constructed by considering the fault as

Sensor and Actuator Fault Reconstruction

Journal of Guidance, Control, and Dynamics, 2004
Many fault detection filters have been developed to detect and identify sensor and actuator faults by using analytical redundancy. An approach to further reconstruct sensor and actuator faults from the residual generated by the fault detection filter is proposed. The transfer matrix from the faults to the residual is derived in terms of the eigenvalues

Earth fault protections with sensors

22nd International Conference and Exhibition on Electricity Distribution (CIRED 2013), 2013
Earth faults are the most common type of fault in medium voltage networks. Earth fault (EF) protection based on residual current detection is therefore the basic protection used in protection systems. Since small isolated and compensated MV networks with low levels of earth fault currents are now increasing in popularity, the use of earth fault ...
