Tomography defined as sensor fusion
2015 IEEE SENSORS, 2015Tomography is introduced as a sensing task, ratherthan a healthcare imaging application, best known for itsembodiment in hospital scanners. Tomography sensing, imagingand data processing are summarized with emphasis on systemphenomenology and design in relation with the inversion ofmeasurement data. The main classification paradigms of sensorfusion are

Data Fusion in Sensor Networks
2006 IEEE International Conference on Video and Signal Based Surveillance, 2005There is a growing excitement about the potential application of large scale sensor networks in diverse applications such as precision agriculture, geophysical and environment monitoring, remote health care, and security. Rapid progress in sensing hardware, communications and low-power computing has resulted in a profusion of commercially available ...

Sensor integration and data fusion
Journal of Robotic Systems, 1990AbstractThe problem of sensor integration and data fusion is addressed. We consider the problem of combining information from diversified sources in a coherent fashion. We assume that information from various sensors may be available in different forms at the fusion.

In the chapter on personnel detection, we talked about using multimodal and multi-sensor systems in order to attain a high probability of detection with fewer false alarms and high confidence in the decision process.

The main contribution of this paper is to present a sensor fusion approach to scene environment mapping as part of a Sensor Data Fusion (SDF) architecture. This approach involves combined sonar array with stereo vision readings. Sonar readings are interpreted using probability density functions to the occupied and empty regions.
