Sensory Adaptation in Exophoria and Exotropia
American Orthoptic Journal, 2009To investigate the effect of exodeviation in spatial visual attention using the illusory line motion paradigm. The perception of visual illusion (i.e., illusory line motion) in the dominant and nondominant eyes was examined in 12 control subjects (under 5(Δ)), 12 exophoria patients (over 10(Δ)), and 12 exotropia patients. This paradigm presents two cues

Ophthalmology, 1979
The characteristics, methods of clinical investigation, and incidence of amblyopia, suppression, and anomalous retinal correspondence in exotropia have been reviewed from the ophthalmic literature. It is hoped that reemphasizing the sensory anomalies in exotropia may lead to more sensitive clinical investigation in these areas and, ultimately, to a ...

Combined resection-recession in true divergence excess sensory exotropia
Journal of American Association for Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus, 2019To assess the effect of combined resection and recession on the same lateral rectus muscle in patients with true divergence excess sensory exotropia.Patients were divided into two groups. One group of patients underwent combined resection-recession of the lateral rectus muscle in one eye (LR group); the other group, with exodeviation of >40Δ for ...

Fresnel prism treatment of sensory exotropia with restoration of sensory and motor fusion
Journal of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, 1999Anterior segment surgeons may treat patients with long-standing media opacities or uncorrected aphakia who have developed sensory strabismus. These patients are at risk for diplopia after surgery to clear the visual axis and restore emmetropia. This report describes 2 patients who regained comfortable single binocular vision without strabismus surgery.

Delayed Sensory Exotropia With Retained Metallic Intraorbital Foreign Body
Journal of Pediatric Ophthalmology & StrabismusThis report describes the longest case of a retained metallic intraorbital foreign body with no complications and development of delayed sensory exotropia following traumatic sclopetaria in childhood. A 9-year-old girl suffered a BB gun injury to the left eye, leading to chorioretinitis sclopetaria and loss of vision. The visual acuity was

Sensorial strabismus due to congenital toxoplasmosis. Is it an eso- or exotropia?
Binocular vision & strabismus quarterly, 2011To examine sensorial strabismus due to congenital toxoplasmosis to elucidate differences and similarities between cases with esotropia (ET) and with exotropia (XT).Restrospective analysis of 49 patients treated between 2002 and 2007. Visual acuity, cycloplegic refraction, strabismus patterns, presence of nystagmus, site of scar, surgery performed and ...

Sensory exotropia associated with keratoconus and review of literature: strabismus and keratoconus.
Eye science, 2015To present a case of sensory strabismus due to keratoconus with an ipsilateral nodular lesion of the bulbar con-junctiva.The patient is a 17 year-old-boy. The fixing eye was the right eye and keratoconus in this eye was late onset. Vision in the left eye was poor and keratoconus was advanced in this eye.
