Nanomedicine applications in lymphoma: Advancing precision diagnostics, targeted therapeutics, and prospective developments

open access: yesVIEW, EarlyView.
Lymphoma is a group of blood cancers that can appear in lymph nodes, blood, bone marrow, spleen, liver, or the central nervous system, which makes drug delivery and disease monitoring difficult. This review summarizes how nanomedicine technologies may improve targeted treatment and imaging, while carefully separating approved or guideline‐supported ...

Sentinel lymph node in early stage ovarian cancer; a literature review

open access: yesJournal of Mind and Medical Sciences, 2018
Although sentinel lymph node mapping has been widely implemented in gynecological malignancies in order to minimize the number of unnecessary lymph node dissections and to diminish postoperative morbidity rate, little is known about ovarian cancer ...

Evaluation of diagnostic value of sentinel lymph node biopsy in breast cancer

open access: yesمجله دانشگاه علوم پزشکی گرگان, 2013
Background and Objective: Dissection of the axillary lymph nodes is considered as one of the common measures in management of breast cancer. Edema and limitation in hand movement are accompanied with dissection of axillary lymph nodes.

Prediction Models for Sentinel Lymph Node Metastasis in Clinically Node‐Negative Breast Cancer: Validation of Existing Nomograms, Model Development, and Ensemble Evaluation

open access: yesWorld Journal of Surgery, EarlyView.
Prediction models using routine clinicopathological variables can identify patients with a very low risk of sentinel lymph node macrometastasis. Ensemble modeling modestly improves classification and increases the proportion of patients eligible for safe, risk‐adapted axillary de‐escalation.

Breast Skin Necrosis After Methylene Blue Dye İnjection: Breast İmage

open access: yesSakarya Tıp Dergisi, 2018
Sentinel lymph node dissection is the gold standard treatment for non-lymph node metastatic breast cancers. Here we present, a 41-year-old woman with a BIRADS-5 mass in the left retroareolar area.

A Multicenter Non‐Inferiority Randomized Controlled Trial of Sentinel Lymph Node Biopsy in Early Breast Cancer: Conventional Dual Tracer Versus Superparamagnetic Iron Oxide

open access: yesWorld Journal of Surgery, EarlyView.
The gold standard for detecting sentinel lymph node (SLN) in early breast cancer is combined use of radioisotope and blue dye. A newer agent, superparamagnetic iron oxide (SPIO), was developed to address the challenges faced with the traditional method.

Recurrence Patterns and Prognostic Factors in Sentinel Lymph Node‐Negative Melanoma in a Taiwanese Cohort With Predominant Acral Melanoma

open access: yesThe Journal of Dermatology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Cutaneous melanoma in Asian populations is characterized by a predominance of acral melanoma and distinct clinicopathologic features. Although sentinel lymph node biopsy (SLNB) is widely used for staging, a subset of SLN‐negative patients still develop recurrence, and evidence regarding recurrence patterns and prognostic factors in this group ...

The Accuracy of Sentinel Lymph Node Biopsy Compared with Axillary Lymph Node Dissection in Breast Cancer

open access: yesMiddle East Journal of Cancer, 2011
Background: Sentinel lymph node biopsy is used as an accurate staging procedure to detect early breast cancer. Several studies have documented that sentinel lymph node biopsy can accurately determine the status of axillary nodes.

MAIT Cells Suppress IgE‐Mediated Asthma via IFNγ‐Dependent B Cell Regulation

open access: yesAllergy, EarlyView.
In this study, we demonstrate that MAIT cell antagonism during sensitization and challenge with HDM worsens the development of airway hyperreactivity without effects on type 2 or 17 associated cytokine production or lung inflammation. Rather, MAIT cells appear to regulate HDM‐induced asthma through direct inhibition of IgE production.
