Sequential + separable vs sequentially separable and another variation on selective separability

open access: yesOpen Mathematics, 2013
AbstractA space X is sequentially separable if there is a countable D ⊂ X such that every point of X is the limit of a sequence of points from D. Neither “sequential + separable” nor “sequentially separable” implies the other. Some examples of this are presented and some conditions under which one of the two implies the other are discussed. A selective

Separable games

open access: yesCoRR, 2020
We present the notion of separable game with respect to a forward directed hypergraph (FDH-graph), which refines and generalizes that of graphical game. First, we show that there exists a minimal FDH-graph with respect to which a game is separable, providing a minimal complexity description for the game.

Spatiotemporal and quantitative analyses of phosphoinositides – fluorescent probe—and mass spectrometry‐based approaches

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Fluorescent probes allow dynamic visualization of phosphoinositides in living cells (left), whereas mass spectrometry provides high‐sensitivity, isomer‐resolved quantitation (right). Their synergistic use captures complementary aspects of lipid signaling. This review illustrates how these approaches reveal the spatiotemporal regulation and quantitative

The onset of instability in unsteady boundary-layer separation

open access: yes, 1996
The process of unsteady two-dimensional boundary-layer separation at high Reynolds number is considered. Solutions of the unsteady non-interactive boundary-layer equations are known to develop a generic separation singularity in regions where the ...

Light-responsive and ultrapermeable two-dimensional metal-organic framework membrane for efficient ionic energy harvesting

open access: yesNature Communications
Nanofluidic membranes offer exceptional promise for osmotic energy conversion, but the challenge of balancing ionic selectivity and permeability persists.

Separable Polynomials and Separable Extensions

open access: yesFormalized Mathematics
Summary We continue the formalization of field theory in Mizar [2], [3], [4]. We introduce separability of polynomials and field extensions: a polynomial is separable, if it has no multiple roots in its splitting field; an algebraic extension E of F

Lebesgue Measurability of Separately Continuous Functions and Separability [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Journal of Mathematics and Mathematical Sciences, 2007
A connection between the separability and the countable chain condition of spaces withL-property (a topological spaceXhasL-property if for every topological spaceY, separately continuous functionf:X×Y→ℝand open setI⊆ℝ,the setf−1(I)is anFσ-set) is studied.

Phosphatidylinositol 4‐kinase as a target of pathogens—friend or foe?

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This graphical summary illustrates the roles of phosphatidylinositol 4‐kinases (PI4Ks). PI4Ks regulate key cellular processes and can be hijacked by pathogens, such as viruses, bacteria and parasites, to support their intracellular replication. Their dual role as essential host enzymes and pathogen cofactors makes them promising drug targets.

Preparation of a self‐supported zeolite glass composite membrane for CO2/CH4 separation

open access: yesSmart Molecules
The low porosity of metal‐organic framework glass makes it difficult to prepare membranes with high permeability. To solve this problem, we fabricated a series of self‐supported zeolite glass composite membranes with different 4A zeolite loadings using ...
