On Separation of Variables

open access: yes, 2002
The necessary and sufficient conditions for a function to be totally or partially separable are derived. It is shown that a function is totally separable if and only if each component of the gradient vector of depends only on the corresponding variable.

Separation of Variables in the Semistable Range [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
In this paper, we give an alternative proof of separation of variables for scalar-valued polynomials $P:(\mathbb R^m)^k\to\mathbb C$ in the semistable range $m\geq 2k-1$ for the symmetry given by the orthogonal group $O(m)$. It turns out that uniqueness of the decomposition of polynomials into spherical harmonics is equivalent to irreducibility of ...

The generalized procedure of separation of variables

open access: yes, 2009
На прикладi рiвняння теплопровiдностi запропоновано узагальнену процедуру вiдокремлення змiнних.The generalized procedure of the separation of variables is proposed by the example of the heat ...

On Separation of Variables for Integrable Equations of Soliton Type [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
We propose a general scheme for separation of variables in the integrable Hamilto- nian systems on orbits of the loop algebra sl(2;C)£P(¸; ¸¡1). In particular, we illus- trate the scheme by application to modi¯ed Korteweg|de Vries (MKdV), sin(sinh ...

Deciphering transcriptional plasticity in pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma reveals alterations in sensory neuron innervation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Pancreatic sensory neurons innervating healthy and PDAC tissue were retrogradely labeled and profiled by single‐cell RNA sequencing. Tumor‐associated innervation showed a dominant neurofilament‐positive subtype, altered mitochondrial gene signatures, and reduced non‐peptidergic neurons.

Higher order multi-term time-fractional partial differential equations involving Caputo-Fabrizio derivative

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Differential Equations, 2017
In this work we discuss higher order multi-term partial differential equation (PDE) with the Caputo-Fabrizio fractional derivative in time. Using method of separation of variables, we reduce fractional order partial differential equation to the ...

CCDC80 suppresses high‐grade serous ovarian cancer migration via negative regulation of B7‐H3

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
PAX8 is a lineage‐specific master regulator of transcription in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer (HGSC) progression. We show for the first time that PAX8 facilitates proliferation and metastasis by repressing the cell autonomous tumor suppressor CCDC80 and inducing B7‐H3 expression.

E2A selectively regulates TGF‐β–induced apoptosis in KRAS‐mutant non‐small cell lung cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Ability to induce apoptosis by TGF‐β is frequently lost in advanced lung adenocarcinoma despite intact TGF‐β signaling. We identify E2A as a mutant KRAS–dependent mediator of resistance to TGF‐β–induced apoptosis. TGF‐β induces E2A via SMAD3 in mutant KRAS cells, and E2A silencing restores apoptosis and enhances radiation response in cell lines ...

Do Dads matter? Or is it just their money that matters? Unpicking the effects of separation on educational outcomes by and [PDF]

open access: yes
The widely held view that separation has adverse effects on children has been the basis of important policy interventions. While a small number of analyses have been concerned with selection into divorce, no studies have attempted to separate out the ...

CD47 promotes mitogen‐activated protein kinase and epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition molecular programs to drive prometastatic phenotypes in non‐small cell lung cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Beyond its role in immune evasion, this study identified that CD47 drives tumor‐intrinsic signaling in non‐small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Transcriptomic profiling and functional studies revealed that CD47 regulates cell adhesion, migration, and metastasis through an ERK–EMT signaling axis.
