Comparison of DRB sequence‐based typing using different strategies
Tissue Antigens, 1997Sequence‐based typing (SBT) has become an important tool in the identification of HLA alleles. In this study a comparison was made between SBT of DRB 1/3/4/5 alleles performed in two laboratories each using a different strategy for SBT. The laboratories in Utrecht and in Maastricht performed direct sequencing of PCR amplified genomic DNA from 30 ...

Sequenced-Based Typing of Prokaryotes
2018The reason to investigate prokaryotic populations is introduced with focus on the population-genetic mechanisms responsible for the formation and conservation of populations. Multilocus sequence typing revolutionized molecular typing by proving information that could be compared between different laboratories and that could be analyzed in well-curated ...

A sequencing-based typing method for HLA-DQA1 alleles
Human Immunology, 2004Sequencing-based typing (SBT) is the most comprehensive method for characterizing human leukocyte antigen gene polymorphisms. Development of a SBT method for DQA1 is hampered because of a deletion of codon 56 in nearly half of the known DQA1 alleles.

Sequenase sequence profiles used for HLA‐DPB1 sequencing‐based typing
Tissue Antigens, 1996Abstract: Sequencing‐based HLA typing (SBT) is a PCR based high resolution HLA typing method in which polymorphic regions of the gene are sequenced and directly used for typing. Currently, for class II SBT, alleles are identified by comparison of the exon 2 sequence with their corresponding allele sequence library.

High Resolution MICA Genotyping by Sequence-Based Typing (SBT)
2012We have developed a MICA typing method based on polymerase chain reaction (PCR) sequence-based typing and a computer program that determines the polymorphisms and distinguishes the GCT repeats in exon 5. One PCR amplification was performed to obtain templates of 2.2 kb, including exons 2, 3, 4, and 5 of MICA to be sequenced with two forward and two ...

HLA class II sequence‐based typing in normal Saudi individuals
Tissue Antigens, 2002Abstract: We have adopted a system that combines low resolution PCR‐SSP followed by sequence‐based typing (SBT) to analyze HLA‐DRB1, ‐DPB1 and ‐DQB1 alleles in the Saudi population. The SBT method was used to identify HLA class II alleles in Saudis for the first time.

Sequencing‐based typing reveals new insight in HLA‐DPA1 polymorphism
Tissue Antigens, 1995Abstract: An HLA‐DPA1 sequencing‐based typing (SBT) system has been developed to identify DPA1 alleles. Up to now eight DPA1 alleles have been defined. Six can be discriminated based upon exon 2 polymorphism. The three subtypes of DPA1*01: DPA1*0101, DPA1*0102 and DPA1*0103, have identical exon 2 sequences but show differences in exon 4.

High‐resolution HLA typing for the DRB3/4/5 genes by sequence‐based typing
Tissue Antigens, 1997The high degree of polymorphism of the HLA genes at the nucleotide sequence level has proven sequence‐based typing a major typing strategy. For DRB1 the allelic variability is predominantly present in the second exon and by DNA sequencing of exon 2 all hitherto known DRB1 alleles can be detected.
