Circulating tumor cell viability during and after radiotherapy mirrors treatment response in cancer patients

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Radiotherapy (RT) response depends on the DNA repair capacity of tumor and host cells. We show that circulating tumor cell (CTC) counts and apoptosis rates before and after RT predict treatment response and outcome, which can be accessed via easily accessible liquid biopsy approaches. RST-Resilient Video Watermarking Using Scene-Based Feature Extraction

open access: yesEURASIP Journal on Advances in Signal Processing, 2004
Watermarking for video sequences should consider additional attacks, such as frame averaging, frame-rate change, frame shuffling or collusion attacks, as well as those of still images.

Developmental programmes drive cellular plasticity, disease progression and therapy resistance in lung adenocarcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study shows that lung adenocarcinomas exploit developmental branching morphogenesis to acquire a therapy resistant basal‐like tumour cell state. This process was found to be regulated by combined TP53 loss‐of‐function and type‐I interferon signalling, identifying a novel axis for biomarker and therapeutic target discovery.

Stimulator of interferon genes agonist augmented antitumor immunity of osimertinib in Egfr‐mutated lung cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Combining osimertinib with the STING agonist ADU‐S100 activates innate and adaptive immunity to overcome the non‐inflamed microenvironment of Egfr‐mutant lung cancer. This combination increases NK and CD8+ T‐cell infiltration, associated with activation of the STING‐IRF3 pathway and local immunogenic cell death.

Signal Averaging for Digitizer ADQ214

open access: yes, 2013
Signal averaging is a signal processing technique applied in the time domain, intended to increase the strength of a signal relative to noise that is obscuring it.

Face Recognition from Still Images to Video Sequences: A Local-Feature-Based Framework

open access: yesEURASIP Journal on Image and Video Processing, 2011
Although automatic faces recognition has shown success for high-quality images under controlled conditions, for video-based recognition it is hard to attain similar levels of performance.

Evaluation of simulation models to mimic the distortions introduced into squiggles by nanopore sequencers and segmentation algorithms.

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2019
Nucleotides ratcheted through the biomolecular pores of nanopore sequencers generate raw picoamperage currents, which are segmented into step-current level signals representing the nucleotide sequence.

Online Computing Quantile Summaries Over Uncertain Data Streams

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2019
Quantile summarization is a useful tool in data streams management and mining that can efficiently capture the distribution of the data. A quantile of a sequence of points is the point with a given rank in the sequence.

Loss of IGF‐1R impairs DNA‐PKcs recruitment to chromatin leading to defective end‐joining

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
IGF‐1R promotes radioresistance by facilitating DNA‐PKcs recruitment to chromatin, enabling non‐homologous end‐joining (NHEJ) repair of double‐strand breaks. Inhibition or loss of IGF‐1R disrupts this recruitment to damage sites, driving compensatory reliance on microhomology‐mediated end‐joining (MMEJ) repair.
