Recent work in the theory of subspace filtering and estimation, for example the Multistage Wiener Filter (MWF) of Goldstein et. al., has focused primarily on the case of finite dimension filtering. While this is the more practical case, as it can be implemented in a general purpose computer, it has left open the theoretical question of the behavior of ...

Quantile Estimation in Dependent Sequences
Operations Research, 1984Standard nonparametric estimators of quantiles based on order statistics can be used not only when the data are i.i.d., but also when the data are drawn from a stationary, ϕ-mixing process of continuous random variables. However, when the random variables are highly positively correlated, the sample sizes needed for estimating extreme quantiles become

Two-dimensional sequence estimation
2000 IEEE International Symposium on Information Theory (Cat. No.00CH37060), 2002An algorithm is described for demodulating full-surface two-dimensional data, such as two-dimensional on-off keying, in the presence of two-dimensional intersymbol interference, a topic that is becoming important in the field of optical recording.

IEEE Transactions on Communications, 1995
Summary: Estimating the data sequence from the received signal without knowing the transmission channel is referred to as blind sequence estimation. A new blind sequence estimation scheme is proposed by exploiting the second order statistical properties of the source and the algebraic structures of the data sequence.

ADAPTIVE CHANNEL ESTIMATION FOR MAXIMUM LIKELIHOOD SEQUENCE ESTIMATION
IFAC Proceedings Volumes, 1992Abstract The paper reviews the problem of adaptive channel estimation for maximum likelihood sequence estimation. It explains necessity of channel estimation for operation of the ML receiver, reviews a few of the most important receiver structures, discusses several adaptation algorithms and joint blind adaptive sequence and channel estimation.

Maximum-Likelihood Sequence Estimation Sequence for OFDM
1996In this paper, Maximum-Likelihood Sequence Estimation (MLSE) for OFDM is derived together with a corresponding upper bound on probability of error. The error bound of the MLSE is used to assess the performance of an OFDM system with a two-path channel and a linear zero-forcing equaliser.
