Rapid screening of staphylokinase protein variants using an unpurified cell‐free expression system
An unpurified cell‐free protein synthesis (CFPS) platform enables rapid functional screening of staphylokinase variants. Direct plasminogen‐activation assays performed in microplate format provide real‐time activity readouts, allowing rapid identification and ranking of variants with improved or reduced fibrinolytic activity without protein ...

On l1-Invariant Sequence Spaces
In a recent paper the author [Stud. Math. 139, No.~1, 47-68 (2000; Zbl 0991.47013)] introduced and investigated extensively a new sectional property for topological sequence spaces. He names this additional property as the property KB. Here he has shown that the multipliers into \(\ell^?\) and multiplication by \(\ell^1\) play a similar role for KB as ...

Evolutionarily divergent DUF4465 domains have a common vitamin B12‐binding function
We show that DUF4465 family proteins, widespread across bacteria from gut microbiomes, hydrothermal vents, and soil, share a common vitamin B12‐binding function. These augmented β‐jellyroll proteins bind vitamin B12 via extended loops. Our findings establish sequence‐diverse DUF4465 proteins as a widespread class of B12‐binding proteins, highlighting ...

Space missions may be subject to intentional jamming attacks, which are particularly dangerous for Telecommand (TC) links. To counter the threat, error correcting codes, interleaving and direct sequence spread spectrum (DSSS) can be jointly used to limit

Long‐term hippocampal alterations and cognitive impairment in a murine model of surgical sepsis
Using a mouse model of surgical sepsis, we tested long‐term memory and analyzed the transcriptome of single cells isolated from the hippocampus. Survivor mice showed worse memory, loss of certain brain cell subpopulations, and abnormal immune cell activity—suggesting that post‐sepsis brain alterations may be linked to cognitive deficits.

Some generalizations of the sequence space
In the present paper, the sequence space d(u, p) of a non-absolute type is introduced and it is proved that the space d(u, p) is linearly isomorphic to the Maddox's space i(p).

YIPFα1A expression is regulated by multilayered molecular mechanisms
YIPFα1A, a five‐pass Golgi protein, is regulated at multiple layers. (1) Rare‐codon enrichment drives translation‐coupled mRNA decay. (2) A proximal 3′‐UTR element stabilizes mRNA. (3) A distal 3′‐UTR element included by alternate poly(A) site usage represses translation, which can be overridden by the proximal 3′‐UTR element.
