Modelling of Sequencing Batch Reactors

Water Research, 1995
Abstract A model was developed to describe the performance of sequencing batch reactors. The model was structured upon four processes (substrate growth depending, product growth depending, hydrolysis, and decay processes). The model parameters, two parameters, were evaluated using one set of experimental data obtained from the literature.

Aerobic Granulation in a Sequencing Batch Airlift Reactor

Water Research, 2002
Aerobic granular sludge was cultivated in an intensely mixed sequencing batch airlift reactor (SBAR). A COD loading of 2.5 kg Acetate-COD/(m3 d) was applied. Granules developed in the reactor within one week after inoculation with suspended activated sludge from a conventional wastewater treatment plant. Selection of the dense granules from the biomass

Biodegradation of 3-Chlorophenol in a Sequencing Batch Reactor

Journal of Environmental Science and Health, Part A, 2003
The present paper shows the results obtained through a study on the biodegradation of 3-chlorophenol (3-CP) in a Sequencing Batch Reactor (SBR). To such a purpose a lab-scale SBR was fed a synthetic wastewater containing 3-CP and nutrients (nitrogen and phosphorus) diluted in tap water.

Sequencing Batch Reactors

2009
A sequencing batch reactor (SBR) can be either a biological SBR (BIO-SBR) or a physicochemical SBR (PC-SBR). BIO-SBR includes traditional sedimentation biological SBR, innovative flotation biological SBR (BIO-DAF-SBR), innovative membrane biological SBR (MBR-SBR), aerobic digestion SBR (AD-SBR), etc.

SEQUENCING BATCH REACTORS

2012
batch reactor (SBR) technology is an alternative method for treating wastewater. This chapter intends to provide an overall view of SBR technology. SBR has been gaining popularity through the years, mainly because of its single- tank design and ease of automation. The basis of nutrient removal in a SBR is discussed.

Treatment of wastewater using a sequencing batch reactor

Environmental Technology, 2013
The aim of this study was to evaluate the efficiency of two sequencing batch reactors (R1 and R2) at removing nutrient (N and P) and chemical oxygen demand (COD). The two reactors (R1 and R2) were of the same design, operating under identical cycles and had a sludge retention time of 5 d.
