Evaluation of Automated Machinery Functional Safety Risk Assessment Using LLMs

open access: yesIEEE Access
Accurate classification of required Performance Level (PLr) for hazard scenarios in machinery functional safety risk assessment demands expert-level interpretation of technical standards (e.g.

Structural instability impairs function of the UDP‐xylose synthase 1 Ile181Asn variant associated with short‐stature genetic syndrome in humans

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The Ile181Asn variant of human UDP‐xylose synthase (hUXS1), associated with a short‐stature genetic syndrome, has previously been reported as inactive. Our findings demonstrate that Ile181Asn‐hUXS1 retains catalytic activity similar to the wild‐type but exhibits reduced stability, a looser oligomeric state, and an increased tendency to precipitate ...

SEQUENTIAL STOCHASTIC PRODUCTION DECISIONS FOR A PERENNIAL CROP: THE YIELD/QUALITY TRADEOFF FOR ALFALFA HAY [PDF]

open access: yes
The "optimal cutting schedule" for alfalfa hay is described as a function of the trade-off between rising yield and falling quality of alfalfa over time and the local market prices being offered for different qualities of hay during the harvest season ...

Sequential and Circular Migration: Theory and Decision Rules Under Imperfect Information

open access: yesJournal of Economic Research (JER), 2012
This paper proposes a model which makes an attempt to incorporate heterogeneous labor and imperfect information in the theory of sequential and circular migration of labor. An attempt has been made in this paper to capture the individual’s migration decision and behavior based upon maximizing expected utility of terminal wealth.

PICALM::MLLT10 translocated leukemia

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This comprehensive review of PICALM::MLLT10 translocated acute leukemia provides an in‐depth review of the structure and function of CALM, AF10, and the fusion oncoprotein (1). The multifaceted molecular mechanisms of oncogenesis, including nucleocytoplasmic shuttling (2), epigenetic modifications (3), and disruption of endocytosis (4), are then ...

Testing for a unit root when uncertain about the trend [Revised to become 07/03 above] [PDF]

open access: yes
In this paper we consider the issue of testing for a unit root when it is uncertain as to whether or not a linear deterministic trend is present in the data.

Cell wall target fragment discovery using a low‐cost, minimal fragment library

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
LoCoFrag100 is a fragment library made up of 100 different compounds. Similarity between the fragments is minimized and 10 different fragments are mixed into a single cocktail, which is soaked to protein crystals. These crystals are analysed by X‐ray crystallography, revealing the binding modes of the bound fragment ligands.

Author Identification using Sequential Minimal Optimization with rule-based Decision Tree on Indian Literature in Marathi

open access: yesProcedia Computer Science, 2018
Abstract Authorship Identification is the task of identifying who wrote a given piece of text from a given set of candidate authors (suspects). The increasingly large volumes of texts on the Internet enhance the great yet urgent necessity for authorship identification.

The (Glg)ABCs of cyanobacteria: modelling of glycogen synthesis and functional divergence of glycogen synthases in Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

Influence of presurgical cerebral and extracerebral factors on lethality in surgical treatment of hemorrhagic stroke

open access: yesUkrainian Neurosurgical Journal, 2012
Introduction. Hemorrhagic strokes are one of principal causes of mortality. As a rule, it is caused by a rupture of arterial aneurisms – in 78.5% patients, arteriovenous malformations – in 8.5%, formation of intracerebral hematomas – in 13 ...
