Jogos de Empresas e Economia Experimental: um Estudo da Racionalidade Organizacional na Tomada de Decisão [PDF]

open access: yesRAC: Revista de Administração Contemporânea, 2009
Through the empirical analysis of behavior in business games, this paper contributes to the discussion of the classical theories on decision making, especially the studies of Simon.

The Sequential Join of Combinatorial Games

open access: yes, 2007
We study the sequential join of combinatorial games, and show that all combinatorial games form a monoid under this operation. We also show how this can be used to study games such as Childish Hackenbush and a new variant of normal play Hackenbush.

Through Diamond Robust Surface Enhanced Raman Spectroscopy

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Thin film diamond growth offers a unique opportunity for Surface Enhanced Raman Spectroscopy (SERS); the encapsulation of plasmonic nanostructures within a transparent, chemically stable, and physically robust coating. The diamond acts as both a window and protective layer, enabling illumination of the plasmonic nanostructures through the diamond ...

Sequential games as stochastic processes

open access: yesStochastic Processes and their Applications, 1978
AbstractThis paper examines the stochastic processes generated by sequential games that involve repeated play of a specific game. Such sequential games are viewed as adaptive decision-making processes over time wherein each player updates his “state” after every play.

Optimal use of scarce information: When partisan voters are socially useful [PDF]

open access: yes
We develop a model of simultaneous and sequential voting in a committee where members do not share their private information and do not have the same preferences.

Integration of Low‐Voltage Nanoscale MoS2 Memristors on CMOS Microchips

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This article presents the first monolithic integration of nanoscale MoS2‐based memristors into the back‐end‐of‐line of foundry‐fabricated CMOS microchips in a one‐transistor‐one‐resistor (1T1R) architecture. The MoS2‐based 1T1R cells exhibit forming‐free, nonvolatile resistive switching with ultra‐low operating voltages, low cycle‐to‐cycle variability ...

Social Learning with Payoff Complementarities [PDF]

open access: yes
We incorporate strategic complementarities into a multi-agent sequential choice model with observable actions and private information. In this framework agents are concerned with learning from predecessors, signalling to successors, and coordinating ...

Anomalous Pressure‐Temperature Ultrahigh Sensitivities in Atomically Engineered Carbonitride MXenes for Multifunctional Wearable Human–Machine Interfaces: Joint Computational–Experimental Elucidations

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Atomically engineered layered 2D Ti3CNTz carbonitride MXene exhibits ultrahigh heat and pressure sensitivity, enabling dual‐mode sensors with 300%–400% performance enhancement and durability for real‐time health‐monitoring interface devices. Precise nitrogen incorporation (e.g., Ti3C1.8N0.2Tz) boosts conductivity, enhancing temperature response, while ...

Swelling‐Programmed Topographical Guidance for Dynamic Spheroid Self‐Assembly via a Mechanochemical Hydrogel Niche

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A swelling‐programmed micropatterned hydrogel guides adherent cells through a controlled transition from cell–matrix anchoring to cadherin‐mediated cell–cell compaction, enabling rapid assembly of high‐viability spheroids with defined size and morphology.

Ultrasmall Platinum Nanoparticles for Radiation‐Enhanced Cancer Therapy

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This work proposes a nanomedicine‐based strategy to enhance X‐ray radiotherapy for cancer treatment. Ultrasmall Pt‐NPs exhibit catalase‐like activity that may contribute to modulation of the tumor microenvironment and amplify interactions between radiation and biological matter, leading to increased DNA damage.
