The asymmetric exclusion process: Comparison of update procedures

open access: yes, 1997
The asymmetric exclusion process (ASEP) has attracted a lot of interest not only because its many applications, e.g. in the context of the kinetics of biopolymerization and traffic flow theory, but also because it is a paradigmatic model for ...

Peroxidasin enables melanoma immune escape by inhibiting natural killer cell cytotoxicity

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Peroxidasin (PXDN) is secreted by melanoma cells and binds the NK cell receptor NKG2D, thereby suppressing NK cell activation and cytotoxicity. PXDN depletion restores NKG2D signaling and enables effective NK cell–mediated melanoma killing. These findings identify PXDN as a previously unrecognized immune evasion factor and a potential target to improve

Combining antibody conjugates with cytotoxic and immune‐stimulating payloads maximizes anti‐cancer activity

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Methods to improve antibody–drug conjugate (ADC) treatment durability in cancer therapy are needed. We utilized ADCs and immune‐stimulating antibody conjugates (ISACs), which are made from two non‐competitive antibodies, to enhance the entry of toxic payloads into cancer cells and deliver immunostimulatory agents into immune cells.

ANÁLISE POR INJEÇÃO SEQUENCIAL COM DETECÇÃO POR VOLTAMETRIA DE ONDA QUADRADA PARA DETERMINAÇÃO DE As(III) EM AMOSTRAS DE ÁGUAS USANDO ELETRODO DE OURO

open access: yesQuímica Nova
A sequential injection method with square wave anodic stripping voltammetry (SI-SWASV) using screen printed and crystalline gold electrode was developed for determination of As(III).

Modelling Electron Spin Accumulation in a Metallic Nanoparticle

open access: yes, 2008
A model describing spin-polarized current via discrete energy levels of a metallic nanoparticle, which has strongly asymmetric tunnel contacts to two ferromagnetic leads, is presented.

TRAIL‐PEG‐Apt‐PLGA nanosystem as an aptamer‐targeted drug delivery system potential for triple‐negative breast cancer therapy using in vivo mouse model

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Aptamers are used both therapeutically and as targeting agents in cancer treatment. We developed an aptamer‐targeted PLGA–TRAIL nanosystem that exhibited superior therapeutic efficacy in NOD/SCID breast cancer models. This nanosystem represents a novel biotechnological drug candidate for suppressing resistance development in breast cancer.

Automatic in situ sensor based on K2S2O8 oxidation method for total phosphorus detection in marine water

open access: yesFrontiers in Marine Science
Phosphorus is a key indicator for water quality management due to its role in eutrophication. The variety of phosphorus-containing substances necessitates highly sensitive detection of total phosphorus, particularly through automated methods, to ensure ...

Cloud point extraction in flow-based systems

open access: yesReviews in Analytical Chemistry, 2016
Cloud point extraction is a green alternative for separation and preconcentration, whose advantages are magnified by coupling with flow analysis. This results in fast extractions, with improved precision and lower reagent consumption and waste generation.

Subspaces with equal closure

open access: yes, 2003
We take a unifying and new approach toward polynomial and trigonometric approximation in an arbitrary number of variables, resulting in a precise and general ready-to-use tool that anyone can easily apply in new situations of interest. The key idea is to

Colorectal cancer‐derived FGF19 is a metabolically active serum biomarker that exerts enteroendocrine effects on mouse liver

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Meta‐transcriptome analysis identified FGF19 as a peptide enteroendocrine hormone associated with colorectal cancer prognosis. In vivo xenograft models showed release of FGF19 into the blood at levels that correlated with tumor volumes. Tumoral‐FGF19 altered murine liver metabolism through FGFR4, thereby reducing bile acid synthesis and increasing ...
