Sequential Monte Carlo Methods for Estimating Dynamic Microeconomic Models [PDF]
This paper develops methods for estimating dynamic structural microeconomic models with serially correlated latent state variables. The proposed estimators are based on sequential Monte Carlo methods, or particle filters, and simultaneously estimate both

A Sequential Monte Carlo Method for Bayesian Face Recognition [PDF]
This paper proposes a Sequential Monte Carlo (SMC) learning algorithm for Bayesian probability distributions that describe model parameters in a video face recognition system based on deformable template matching. The new algorithm achieves significantly improved robustness of recognition against facial expressions and speech movements by comparison ...

The energetic offset between the donor and the acceptor components in organic photoactive layers is central to the tradeoff between photovoltage and photocurrent losses. This Perspective covers the most important issues surrounding this topic in non‐fullerene acceptor blends, from the difficulty of accurately determining state energies and driving ...

Anion‐exchange doping of conjugated polymers is an effective way to achieve high conductivities. Here, we report over 2000 S cm−1 electrical conductivity for doped P(g3BTTT). In addition, we show that P(g3BTTT) sustains exceptionally high doping levels without any drop in the charge mobility.

Reliability Indices Utlization in Combined Heat and Power ( CHP ) Optimal Operation
The reason that cogeneration is being used more compared to separate heat and power is because it is more efficient. In this paper the goal is finding the optimized CHP system utility size and thermal storage considering reliability limits of boiler and

Estimation of Finite Sequential Games [PDF]
I study the estimation of finite sequential games with perfect information. The major challenge in estimation is computation of high-dimensional truncated integration whose domain is complicated by strategic interaction.

A Survey of Sequential Monte Carlo Methods for Economics and Finance [PDF]
This article serves as an introduction and survey for economists to the field of sequential Monte Carlo methods which are also known as particle filters. Sequential Monte Carlo methods are simulation-based algorithms used to compute the high-dimensional and/or complex integrals that arise regularly in applied work.
