Time-Varying Noise Estimation for Speech Enhancement and Recognition Using Sequential Monte Carlo Method

open access: yesEURASIP Journal on Advances in Signal Processing, 2004
We present a method for sequentially estimating time-varying noise parameters. Noise parameters are sequences of time-varying mean vectors representing the noise power in the log-spectral domain.

A Reliability Evaluation Method for Power System with Energy Storage Based on Operation Optimization

open access: yesZhongguo dianli, 2022
In view of the problem that the traditional reliability evaluation method often leads to outage loss of power system, a new reliability evaluation method is proposed for power system with energy storage based on operation optimization.

Predicting Atomic Charges in MOFs by Topological Charge Equilibration

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
An atomic charge prediction method is presented that is able to accurately reproduce ab‐initio‐derived reference charges for a large number of metal–organic frameworks. Based on a topological charge equilibration scheme, static charges that fulfill overall neutrality are quickly generated.

Multilevel Mixture Kalman Filter

open access: yesEURASIP Journal on Advances in Signal Processing, 2004
The mixture Kalman filter is a general sequential Monte Carlo technique for conditional linear dynamic systems. It generates samples of some indicator variables recursively based on sequential importance sampling (SIS) and integrates out the linear and ...

A comparison of Monte Carlo-based Bayesian parameter estimation methods for stochastic models of genetic networks.

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2017
We compare three state-of-the-art Bayesian inference methods for the estimation of the unknown parameters in a stochastic model of a genetic network. In particular, we introduce a stochastic version of the paradigmatic synthetic multicellular clock model

Sequentially interacting Markov chain Monte Carlo methods

open access: yesThe Annals of Statistics, 2010
Sequential Monte Carlo (SMC) is a methodology for sampling approximately from a sequence of probability distributions of increasing dimension and estimating their normalizing constants. We propose here an alternative methodology named Sequentially Interacting Markov Chain Monte Carlo (SIMCMC). SIMCMC methods work by generating interacting non-Markovian

Speckle‐Engineered Upconversion Amplification in Nanoemulsion‐Templated Hydrogel Microdomes

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Nanoemulsion‐confined PEGDA microdomes generate speckle‐like excitation fields that strongly amplify upconversion luminescence upon dehydration, enabling filter‐free visible readout with reversible on–off switching. DMD‐based lithography yields scalable, shape‐programmable arrays for moisture‐responsive displays and optical encryption.

A Mechanistic Blueprint for Fast, High‐Yield Green Scintillators Using Conjugated Polymer–Nanocrystal Composites

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Conjugated polymer–nanocrystal composites are investigated to develop fast, high‐yield green scintillators. The polymer F8BT enables efficient, ultrafast emission, while blends with non‐emitting HfO2 nanocrystals and luminescent CdZnS/ZnS quantum dots reveal distinct sensitization mechanisms.

In Situ Amine Formation to Modulate MOF‐Derived PdIn N‐Doped Carbon Catalysts

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
An amine‐assisted approach converts PdIn‐MOF into PdIn intermetallic nanoparticles embedded in N‐doped carbon. In situ‐generated amines trigger early Pd nucleation, producing smaller PdIn domains than direct pyrolysis. Amine sterics and basicity tune composition and particle size, while solvent and amine co‐determine textural features.
