Circular RNA expression landscapes in myelodysplastic neoplasms: Associations with mutational signatures and disease progression

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
In this explorative study, the abundance of circular RNA molecules in bone marrow stem cells was found to be elevated in patients with high‐risk myelodysplastic neoplasms, and to be associated with an increased risk of progression to acute myeloid leukemia.

Detection method for selfish routes based on the sequential probability ratio test

open access: yesDianxin kexue, 2016
According to a network model based on the sequential probability ratio test(SPRT),one detection method of selfish routes with respect to the routing functionality in wireless sensor network was developed.Through the analysis of the observed sample values

Automatic Parallelization With Statistical Accuracy Bounds [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
Traditional parallelizing compilers are designed to generate parallel programs that produce identical outputs as the original sequential program. The difficulty of performing the program analysis required to satisfy this goal and the restricted space of ...

Colorectal cancer‐derived FGF19 is a metabolically active serum biomarker that exerts enteroendocrine effects on mouse liver

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Meta‐transcriptome analysis identified FGF19 as a peptide enteroendocrine hormone associated with colorectal cancer prognosis. In vivo xenograft models showed release of FGF19 into the blood at levels that correlated with tumor volumes. Tumoral‐FGF19 altered murine liver metabolism through FGFR4, thereby reducing bile acid synthesis and increasing ...

Identification of serum protein biomarkers for pre‐cancerous lesions associated with pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This work identified serum proteins associated with pancreatic epithelial neoplasms (PanINs) and early‐stage PDAC. Proteomics screens assessed genetically engineered mice with abundant PanINs, KPC mice (Lox‐STOP‐Lox‐KrasG12D/+ Lox‐STOP‐Lox‐Trp53R172H/+ Pdx1‐Cre) before PDAC development and also early‐stage PDAC patients (n = 31), compared to benign ...

The Limits to Common Resource Management: The Bypassed Commons or Commons without Tragedy [PDF]

open access: yes
Land, labor, indigenous knowledge and institutional resources of producers in the Central Highlands of Ethiopia are investigated. Frequency distribution and comparative statistical analysis of the two regions with respect to these and other parameters ...

Subtype‐specific enhancer RNAs define transcriptional regulators and prognosis in breast cancers

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study employed machine learning methodologies to perform the subtype‐specific classification of RNA‐seq data sets, which are mapped on enhancers from TCGA‐derived breast cancer patients. Their integration with gene expression (referred to as ProxCReAM eRNAs) and chromatin accessibility profiles has the potential to identify lineage‐specific and ...

Inference in group sequential designs with causal mechanisms: implications for power and mediation analysis

open access: yesBMC Medical Research Methodology
Background Group sequential designs are increasingly employed to allow trials to stop early with statistical rigor. While existing work focuses on intention-to-treat effect on clinical endpoints, the properties of mediation analysis (commonly conducted ...

Design of Morlet wavelet neural networks integrated with sequential quadratic programming to analyze the dynamics of Ebola virus disease

open access: yesResults in Engineering
Ebola virus disease is caused by a virus that originates in flying foxes, or fruit bats. These bats may spread the virus to humans. The proposed model partitions the infected population into unaware and aware, and has a hospitalized compartment.
