Sequential Monte Carlo Methods for Statistical Analysis of Tables

Journal of the American Statistical Association, 2005
We describe a sequential importance sampling (SIS) procedure for analyzing two-way zero–one or contingency tables with fixed marginal sums. An essential feature of the new method is that it samples the columns of the table progressively according to certain special distributions.

Sequential polypeptides: 5. Statistical mechanical analysis of helix-coil transition in sequential polypeptides

International Journal of Biological Macromolecules, 1982
Abstract A statistical mechanical theory of the helix-coil transition in sequential polypeptides is developed assuming that the statistical weights of the Zimm-Bragg parameters of a given residue depend on the type of adjacent residues. In the case of a sequential polypeptide consisting of two kinds of residues, the theory describes the helix- coil ...

Statistical timing analysis in sequential circuit for on-chip global interconnect pipelining

Proceedings of the 41st annual Design Automation Conference, 2004
With deep-sub-micron (DSM) technology, statistical timing analysis becomes increasingly crucial to characterize signal transmission over global interconnect wires. In this paper, a novel statistical timing analysis approach has been developed to analyze the behavior of two important pipelined architectures for multiple clock-cycle global interconnect ...

Statistical analysis of sequential process chains based on Errors-in-Variables models

2016 IEEE Symposium Series on Computational Intelligence (SSCI), 2016
A process chain comprises a series of sequential (production) processes, mostly in the area of manufacturing engineering. It describes a consecutive sequence of activities, which together form one single system. Within this system the sub-processes are presumed to influence each other by transferring characteristics.

High sigma statistical hold time analysis in FinFET sequential circuits

2017 18th International Symposium on Quality Electronic Design (ISQED), 2017
Accurate hold time analysis of sequential cells is crucial to high performance enterprise server microprocessor circuit design. Due to tight timing margins, process variation, and increased instance counts of latches and flops in a microprocessor, fast and accurate hold time analysis with process variation consideration is needed.

Analysis of a Sufficient Statistic in a Sequential Detection Problem

In the problem of detecting the moment at which a Brownian motion, observed in real time, changes its drift, the optimal estimator of this moment is the stopping time given by the first instant at which a certain functional of the Brownian motion without drift exceeds a precomputed threshold. Then, as the decision on when to stop the observation of the

On Markov Sufficient Statistics in Non-Additive Bayes Problems of Sequential Analysis

Theory of Probability & Its Applications, 1964
The question of finding Markov sufficient statistics (see definition 3) in the problem of minimisation of the functional (2) is considered. It is supposed that the parameter $\theta $ is the random moment at which the density $f_0 $ changes to $f_1 $ (§ 1–3) or to one of the $f_1 , \cdots ,f_m $ (§ 5). In the case when the densities $f_0 ,f_1 , \cdots ,

Defect level estimation of circuit testing using sequential statistical analysis

IEEE Transactions on Computer-Aided Design of Integrated Circuits and Systems, 1993
Sequential statistical analysis is applied to determine the defect level of random and pseudorandom testing. Results derived using worst-case analysis show that the defect of pseudorandom testing is always no larger than the defect of random testing.

Some statistical problems in sequential meta-analysis [PDF]

open access: possible, 2016
The objective of meta-analysis is to combine results from several independent studies in order to make evidence more generalisable and provide evidence base for decision making. However, recent studies show that the magnitude of effect size estimates reported in many areas of research have significantly changed over time.
