Perturbation analysis of the limit cycle of the free van der Pol equation [PDF]

open access: yes, 1984
A power series expansion in the damping parameter, epsilon, of the limit cycle of the free van der Pol equation is constructed and analyzed. Coefficients in the expansion are computed in exact rational arithmetic using the symbolic manipulation system ...

Series and epsilon-expansion of the hypergeometric functions

open access: yes, 2004
Recent progress in analytical calculation of the multiple [inverse, binomial, harmonic] sums, related with epsilon-expansion of the hypergeometric function of one variable are discussed.Comment: 5 pages, to appear in the proceedings of 7th DESY Workshop ...

Large Order Behavior of Quasiclassical Euclidean Gravity in Minisuperspace Models [PDF]

open access: yes, 1996
We demonstrate in two minisuperspace models that a perturbation expansion of quasiclassical Euclidean gravity has a factorial dependence on the order of the term at large orders. This behavior indicates that the expansion is an asymptotic series which is

Pathogenic Germline PALB2 and RAD50 Variants in Patients With Relapsed Ewing Sarcoma

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Approximately 10% of patients with Ewing sarcoma (EwS) have pathogenic germline variants. Here, we report two cases: first, a novel germline pathogenic variant in partner and localizer of BRCA2 (PALB2) in a patient with a late EwS relapse. Its impact on homologous recombination is demonstrated, and breast cancer risk is discussed.

Mixed-state fidelity susceptibility through iterated commutator series expansion

open access: yes, 2014
We present a perturbative approach to the problem of computation of mixed-state fidelity susceptibility (MFS) for thermal states. The mathematical techniques used provides an analytical expression for the MFS as a formal expansion in terms of the ...

Predicting the Future Burden of Renal Replacement Therapy in Türkiye Using National Registry Data and Comparative Modeling Approaches

open access: yesTherapeutic Apheresis and Dialysis, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Chronic kidney disease is a growing public health problem worldwide, and the number of patients requiring renal replacement therapy is steadily increasing. Türkiye has experienced a similar rise in both the incidence and prevalence of renal replacement therapy over the past decades; however, national‐level projections of future ...

q-Titchmarsh-Weyl theory: series expansion [PDF]

open access: yesNagoya Mathematical Journal, 2012
AbstractWe establish aq-Titchmarsh-Weyl theory for singularq-Sturm-Liouville problems. We defineq-limit-point andq-limit circle singularities, and we give sufficient conditions which guarantee that the singular point is in a limit-point case. The resolvent is constructed in terms of Green’s function of the problem. We derive the eigenfunction expansion

Convergence of the Formal Expansion for lambda_d(p) of the Monomer-Dimer Problem for Small p [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
Shmuel Friedland and the author recently presented a formal expansion for lambda_d(p) of the monomer-dimer problem. Herein we prove that if the terms in the expansion are rearranged as a power series in p, then for sufficiently small p this series ...

Series Expansion of the Off-Equilibrium Mode Coupling Equations

open access: yes, 1995
We show that computing the coefficients of the Taylor expansion of the solution of the off-equilibrium dynamical equations characterizing models with quenched disorder is a very effective way to understand the long time asymptotic behavior. We study the $

An optimal series expansion of the multiparameter fractional Brownian motion [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
We derive a series expansion for the multiparameter fractional Brownian motion. The derived expansion is proven to be rate optimal.Comment: 21 pages, no figures, final version, to appear in Journal of Theoretical ...
