Cell‐cycle‐specific lesion evolution rather than inhibition of double‐strand‐break repair underpins cisplatin radiosensitization

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We analyze cisplatin–DNA adducts (CDAs) and double‐strand breaks (DSBs) in a cell‐cycle‐dependent manner. We find that CDAs form similarly across all cell cycle phases. DSBs arise only in S‐phase. CDAs might not directly impair DSB repair, but S‐phase DSB lesions evolve in the presence of CDAs and disrupt repair in G2, also causing radiosensitization ...

Experimental Characterization of Frequency-Dependent Series Resistance and Inductance for Ground Shielded On-Chip Interconnects [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
This paper presents an exhaustive analysis of the frequency-dependent series resistance and inductance associated with the distributed model of on-chip interconnects including a ground shield to reduce substrate losses.

Dead-end filtration of yeast suspensions: correlating specific resistance and flux data using artificial neural networks [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
The specific cake resistance in dead-end filtration is a complex function of suspension properties and operating conditions. In this study, the specific resistance of resuspended dried bakers yeast suspensions was measured in a series of 150 experiments ...

Circulating tumor cell viability during and after radiotherapy mirrors treatment response in cancer patients

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Radiotherapy (RT) response depends on the DNA repair capacity of tumor and host cells. We show that circulating tumor cell (CTC) counts and apoptosis rates before and after RT predict treatment response and outcome, which can be accessed via easily accessible liquid biopsy approaches. Created in BioRender. Wikman, H.

Resistance of a compartmented surface-effect ship

open access: yes, 2010
A series of carefully controlled experiments on the resistance of a model of a compartmented surface-effect ship has been conducted in a towing tank. Configurations of the model included cases encompassing one subcushion and two subcushions, as well as ...

The influence of methylammonium iodide concentration on the properties of perovskite solar cells

open access: yesEnergy Science & Engineering
This study focuses on improving the quality of MAPbI3‐based perovskite films by adjusting the concentration ratios of the methylammonium iodide (MAI) precursor using a two‐step sequential deposition method.

Developmental programmes drive cellular plasticity, disease progression and therapy resistance in lung adenocarcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study shows that lung adenocarcinomas exploit developmental branching morphogenesis to acquire a therapy resistant basal‐like tumour cell state. This process was found to be regulated by combined TP53 loss‐of‐function and type‐I interferon signalling, identifying a novel axis for biomarker and therapeutic target discovery.

Monitoring and Management of Whitefly Resistance to Insecticides in Arizona

open access: yes, 1996
Monitoring of whitefly resistance in the major cotton producing areas of Arizona confirmed the presence of an over 100 fold resistance to the mixture of Danitol® + Orthenem (fepropathrin + acephate).

Thermal behavior of parasitic resistances of polycrystalline silicon solar cells

open access: yesRevue des Énergies Renouvelables, 2013
In this work, we investigate the influence of temperature on the series and shunt resistances of polycrystalline silicon solar cells and then to determine the specific expressions of both parasitic resistances as function of temperature.
