Heterocyclic Inhibitors Of Serine Proteases
This invention relates to a novel class of heterocyclic compounds useful for selectively inhibiting elastase, selectively inhibiting chymotrypsin-like enzymes, selectively inhibiting trypsin-like enzymes, or for generally inhibiting serine proteases of ...

The membrane‐active peptide Pep19‐2.5 reduces harmful inflammation by blocking activation of the NLRP3 inflammasome at trans‐Golgi network membranes. By targeting key membrane interactions, Pep19‐2.5 suppresses inflammatory IL‐1β production and alleviates allergic airway inflammation in mice, leading to reduced immune cell infiltration and improved ...

Fabrication and use of D-serine biosensors for characterising D-serine signalling in rat brain [PDF]
D-serine is a co-agonist at NMDA receptors in the brain but the study of this amino acid is restricted by current techniques. I have designed highly sensitive D-serine biosensors that permit accurate real-time recordings of D-serine in the brain in a ...

Single‐cell mechanomics demonstrates that pharmacological perturbation changes cytoskeletal and cortical structure, suppressing cancer cell invasiveness. By integrating atomic force microscopy (AFM)‐based cortical measurements with stimulated emission depletion (STED)‐resolved adhesion and cytoskeletal organization, this approach identifies nanoscale ...

Isolation and characterisation of two chymotrypsins from Allocyttus niger (black oreo dory) viscera [PDF]
Two serine proteases from the viscera of deep-sea fish, black oreo dory (Allocyttus niger),were purified by hydrophobic, affinity, and cation exchange chromatography.

Subversion of Atypical Mucin Traps by a Spore‐Coat Effector Blocks Cellular Immunity in Drosophila
While the entomopathogenic fungus Metarhizium robertsii can evade insect humoral immunity, its subversion of cellular defenses is still elusive. We identify Eac1 as a spore‐coat protein essential for infecting drosophilids by targeting atypical mucins (Sgf1 and Sgf2), which can entrap spores in a gel matrix and thereby facilitate hemocyte encapsulation.

A Phosphorylation‐Induced Micellization Switch in the Low‐Complexity Domain of TDP‐43
Phosphorylation of TAR DNA‐binding protein's 43 kDa (TDP‐43) low‐complexity domain by casein kinase 1 delta (CK1δ) acts as a molecular switch, redirecting its self‐assembly from macroscopic phase separation toward finite‐sized, spherical block‐copolymer micelles of ∼30 nm.

Model illustrating the proposed mechanism by which chemotherapy‐induced downregulation of OGT disrupts SNAP29 O‐GlcNAcylation, promoting STX17‐SNAP29‐VAMP8 SNARE complex assembly and protective autophagy, leading to chemoresistance, which in turn establishes a feedforward loop to perpetuate drug tolerance.

Deep Learning Prediction of O‐Glycopeptide Tandem Mass Spectra Enhances O‐Glycoproteomics
DeepGPO integrates Transformer and graph neural networks with tailored training strategies, including data augmentation, loss re‐weighting, and pre‐training, to achieve high‐quality O‐glycopeptide MS/MS spectra prediction. The predicted MS/MS spectra are used to localize O‐glycosylation sites from HCD MS/MS data, enhancing O‐glycoproteomics analysis ...
