Cerebral blood flow increases in idiopathic generalized epilepsy and its relationship with mood dysfunction

open access: yesEpilepsia Open, EarlyView.
Abstract Objective To investigate the relationship between cerebral blood flow (CBF), seizure control, and mood regulation in idiopathic generalized epilepsy (IGE), we hypothesized that higher CBF in mood‐regulating regions would be associated with greater mood disturbance, particularly in patients with poor seizure control.

Prophylactic Effects of Astragalus Polysaccharides on Depression‐Like Behaviors in Rats With Chronic Unpredictable Mild Stress: A Role of Gut‐Microbiota–Brain Axis

open access: yesFood Frontiers, EarlyView.
This study complements the pathogenesis of depression, and the effects of APS from the perspective of “gut microbiome ‐ immunity ‐ metabolome” axis. This study also provides a novel research strategy and approaches for demonstrating the anti‐depression effects of plant polysaccharides, and lays a solid foundation for discovering new medicines from ...

Exploring Proteomic and Metabolomic Interactions in a Yeast Consortium Designed to Enhance Bioactive Compounds in Wine Fermentations

open access: yesFood Frontiers, EarlyView.
A consortium of Saccharomyces species enhanced the production of bioactive molecules Proteomic and metabolomic data indicated that the presence of a competitive strain accelerated the growth rate of S. cerevisiae and increase the synthesis of indolic compounds in S.

Characterization of health concerns in people with neurofibromatosis type 1

open access: yesMolecular Genetics &Genomic Medicine, Volume 11, Issue 1, January 2023., 2023
NF1 is a common cancer predisposition syndrome that requires lifelong surveillance. The aim of this research was to characterize health concerns and QoL in a population cohort. This study highlights that the presence of itch and increased visibility of NF1 complications impacts the QoL of adults and children.

Exploring the Molecular Pathways Underlying the Anti‐Diabetic Effects of Millets

open access: yesFood Safety and Health, EarlyView.
Millet consumption may modulate gluconeogenesis and glycolysis, enhance glucose transporter activity, increase leptin levels, inhibit the NF‐κB pathway, and mitigate oxidative and nitrosative stress. ABSTRACT Diabetes mellitus (DM) is a metabolic disorder characterized by hyperglycemic conditions resulting from inadequate insulin production or ...

Computer‐aided Evaluation of Polyvalent Medications’ Pharmacological Potential. Multiphytoadaptogen as a Case Study

open access: yesMolecular Informatics, Volume 42, Issue 1, January 2023., 2023
Abstract Many human diseases including cancer, degenerative and autoimmune disorders, diabetes and others are multifactorial. Pharmaceutical agents acting on a single target do not provide their efficient curation. Multitargeted drugs exhibiting pleiotropic pharmacological effects have certain advantages due to the normalization of the complex ...
